Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

So peeps shouldn't have to work if they choose not to?

The rich have managed it for thousands of years.

If you have a sh-tty enough job that nobody wants to do it, set the pay rate high enough. What people shouldn't have to do is choose between that sort of labor for peanuts and death. We're just used to it so we're not appalled by it, but our great grandchildren will see it as slavery.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

But if the pay for $h!t jobs is too high, nobody could afford their product.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

But....

Way back at some point "A" person did work. Now they spend that (the rich).

When wealth is created by machine, men no longer have to be machines. That's what all of technology has been leading to. There's a reason we don't have poor people carry rich people around in those weird ark of the covenant carriages* I can't think of the name of anymore.

We are approaching the moment when our tech is good enough that the rich lose the ability to threaten the poor with death unless they do their sh-t work for them. That will be a very good day for humanity. In fact, our best day ever.

Don't worry, there will still be rich people to lord it over every one else. It's just that the bottom end of the spectrum won't be quite so destitute. The only person for whom that would remove some of the fun of being rich would be a sadist.

Exactly. If the owners can't skim billions off the top it isn't worth it to keep the business open. In the case of the public sector they get to skim trillions.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

And what are these crappy jobs that kep defines as?

Toilet cleaning in the office?
Lettuce pickers?
Mar A Lago attendants?

Of course not, Kepler wants you enslaved, only doing what the overlords (which he acts like he's against but would eventually rise to power) tell you to. Own nothing, and be happy about it. Not eat meat unless it's your birthday. Live within a 200 sq ft coffin apartment. Only receive for compensation some universal basic income.

Well one should expect return off their capital? No?

And some soul can always open up shop and sell for less to take that market share if profit margins are too high? Right?

This sounds like why mookie accepts welfare. Throw some peanuts at the dregs to keep them from poaching on your porch and breaking in to eat.
Basic econ101 there..

Nope. Soul has to compete and he can't compete with the guy with billions and trillions. Mom and Pop are being destroyed.

Meanwhile Capital >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Labor. In taxes. In riches. In everything.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

Mookie is eating chain's chicken for lunch now and some south Asian man just asked if he could take his tray away to clean.

Should this guy move to MD and get kep's universal? (It is part of the universe...)

Well mookie again Benn crying that there should be a 45_50% marginal rate on income over a couple million.

Of course mookie wants most of that used to build stuff thebpeople need. That stuff would be built by workers, or not?

It would no longer be a death threat, but rather actual death (even if not execution, perhaps other means like drafts for a perpetual war), because there's "no longer a need" for "the poor", who were always seen as slaves. Mind you, the conspiracies about merging with technology are very far fetched; I have no idea how that would even be possible, even considering the Borg. So I'm not sure how the rich think they would even be useful in their plans, unless it was always their idea to not reproduce and be the last generation.

Amazing what happens when you use bureaucracy to force out your competition, like subsidizing $1.46 for every piece of mail.

LOL. You're so brainwashed.

For the record:

1. We have overlords now, you sad, silly sap. I want to get rid of the overlords. I want people freed from need so they can tell any would-be overlord to f-ck himself.

2. I want private ownership. I just want a salary cap.

3. I want all the good things we can get our hands on. I just think that if the price of allowing someone their 30th house is that 3 million people don't get any house then that price is too high.

4. I'm not eliminating work or income or property. I'm making them non-mandatory to exist. We've already done precisely the same thing in a small and insufficient way with unemployment insurance and welfare and health insurance. I'm just raising the amount to cover a decent existence, and also covering things like education which allow you to grow even more free and, incidentally, more productive.

The thing dupes like Flag will never understand is I loathe the collective and extol individuality more than anybody on the so-called "libertarian" right. I just recognize that allowing a handful of obscenely wealthy individuals their complete freedom curses the vast majority of other individuals to no freedom at all. If you care about personal freedom you should create a dignified floor that all of humanity stands on where they are free enough to take it from there themselves. Only the relentless propaganda of the last several centuries has made weak minds equate that impulse with being against freedom and individuality.

Good post.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

Sound like mookie with his quest for national property tax to pay for national security (like a toll road directed user fee or a national gas road to pay for roads)
And
Limiting deductible interest on homes to a single home and the least expensive one.

Mookie is like al gore. But not as fat

The rich are powerful because so many people are on the brink of starvation. Raising the bottom destroys the power of the top. Save the Poor, save the world.

I completely understand that the Poor suck. For once thing, everybody sucks. For another, poverty makes people extremely unpleasant. I'm not saying get rid of poverty because the Poor deserve a better life. Nobody "deserves" anything except what they can get themselves.

I'm saying get rid of poverty because without wealth being equated with the ability to merely survive, and without that massive army of the poor to call upon for violence, the power of the rich erodes. Don't take the gun from the overlord's hands -- that just makes you the overlord. Destroy the gun.

You just refuted point #1 with point #2. How the heck do you think you're going to enforce any of this socialist crap that you spew? Learn from what happened under Stalin and Mao.

Only problem is that you can't possibly adjust one thing without having an effect on everything else. We've been raising this stuff for the last 100 years. It's called inflation. And guess what? We still evidently have the same issues you're griping about today as we did back then. At least with lowering costs, you have a chance to use what has been saved to put towards good use.
