Wisconsin GOP Assembly votes to pay a million per job to Foxconn. Politifact calls that outcome possible if not likely. Big government and corporate welfare all wrapped up into one - to a foreign company nonetheless.
Privatize the profits and socialize the losses. America. Land of the 1%.
Privatize the profits and socialize the losses...
Stimulus is political patronage & corporate welfare.
- Paul Ryan
Don't tell him this is going on in his district. He'd be furious.
Paul Ryan is a globalist RINO. Y'all should show more support for him.![]()

Just shows the sad state of affairs that, instead of actually fixing the tax codes and price floors to make us more competitive with the rest of the world, they'd rather bribe the companies to come back and keep the job-killing regulations in place, so they can just leave once the "promotion" runs out. We see it all the time with utility companies; now we know it's contagious...
Very interesting piece on globalization and "economic nationalism." I'd be curious what those of you more economically than I (read: all of you) think.

"Economic nationalism" is just pseudo-academic code for the old "they (minorities) tuk ur jerb!11!!" dog whistle.
Free trade is better for society as a whole, but sucks for those producers directly impacted. It's a tough sell because you're choosing to save 300 million people a few dollars but costing 10,000 people their jobs. And we spend very little of the savings on helping those 10,000 land on their feet.
In addition to this, it also helps keep competing nations from declaring war - either entirely or so quickly because if the US were to declare war on China, we would be adversely affecting our citizens domestically by way of economic hardships above and beyond the sacrifices a war already demands of a people.
Careful, that was the thesis that proved the developed powers would never go to war again.
In 1912.
Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country?
Luke 21:1-4
Just another blonde bimbo on the gravy train.
EDIT: Best comment.
1 As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury.
2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.
3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
The good news for her? Jesus forgave prostitutes.![]()
