7/ The unemployment rate for African Americans continues to rise - 7.5% in August, the highest in almost 4 years.

Black Unemployment (especially Women but just in general) is like double the rate of the total Unemployment rate. I heard a media type talking about how this is a "Canary in the Coalmine" type situation
Yep, this is it. The ultra-wealthy are shooting their shot to create a permanent serf class out of 80% of the population. They know the recession (depression?) is coming and soon they can vacuum up lots of capital for pennies on the dollar.![]()

"A baker’s dozen or so of Silicon Valley’s most powerful people—cutthroat competitors all—united here to pledge allegiance to Donald Trump." read the inimitable @brbarrett.bsky.social on one of the craziest events I've ever watched on CSPAN...bsky.app
Civil War 2, livestreamed directly to you.Plus, as the economy collapses, you will undoubtedly see him ramp up the domestic use of military forces to give the mouth-breather population a circus to enjoy and prop up the MIC, all without having to declare a war on another country.
Just gotta keep 'em fed.
My god. Think about the assumptions behind that.
It reminds me of a documentary I was watching once about the first roller coaster. "So they tested it, first with a monkey and then with a worker."
For what? Destroying the brand and the company?I'm catching bits of CNN and CNBC at work and I'm seeing Tesla wants to offer Elmo a $1T pay package, assuming certain conditions are met.
I'm about to barf, seriously..
My apologies for all of my laugh reactions lately that may not necessarily be appropriate in context. However, stuff like this is just pure comedy. Treating absurdities like this as a joke is honestly one of the ways I've been able to stay somewhat grounded.I'm catching bits of CNN and CNBC at work and I'm seeing Tesla wants to offer Elmo a $1T pay package, assuming certain conditions are met.

I treat life as absolute absurdity. Otherwise, I'd lose my sobriety. My apologies for all of my laugh reactions lately that may not necessarily be appropriate in context. I assume it would be because they are counting on his ability to con the feds and lots of other investors out of tons of money for phony baloney AI projects and lethal spaceships to nowhere. Cars and batteries are a sideshow for Tesla now, he blew his shot on politics and the stupid Cybertruck, and China is going to dominate that market outside of the US within a decade. For what? Destroying the brand and the company?
I thought the space stuff and the AI stuff were under different umbrellas? Are they all the same conglomerate in the end? Either way he destroyed it all.I assume it would be because they are counting on his ability to con the feds and lots of other investors out of tons of money for phony baloney AI and lethal spaceships to nowhere. In case you're tracking at home, there were 4.3M births in the US in 2007. Assuming equal distribution, that's 365,200 people who turned 18 last month (you know, plus or minus a few hundred school shootings) who would probably like a job.Someone's getting fi-yerd.........
August jobs:+22,000. That is pathetic.
Also, June jobs report revised down to a loss of 13,000 jobs. first net loss since Dec. 2020.
Reminder that you need around 150,000 new jobs added each month just to keep up with the population growth of new working age folks.
Helluva economy ya got there, Trumpy.
It is not. There are graphs to show it I just dont feel like finding them right now.I thought black unemployment being twice the unemployment rate was basically a given, no matter what the unemployment rate was. Like that's been measured over decades now, regardless of which party is in office.
