Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

I wasn't even really thinking of Florida. I was thinking about all the places along the Canadian border, the UP and Upstate New York especially.
UP tourism is mainly from downstate and Wisconsin. The Sconnies like to flee futher north when FIBs from Chicago invade their turf all summer. But every year there are a number of visitors to Pictured Rocks who aren't speaking English - mostly Japanese, Germans, and (pre-war) a few Russians. Of course, most of the Canadians would be anglophones. Munising and Grand Marais will take that hit.

The Soo will likely feel the impact, as well as any Canadian-owned logging, quarrying, mining or mining-adjacent companies that may still be operating up there.

Exactly what happened last time. Bailing out the farmers meant the ag tariffs cost us billions. Higher prices on manufacturing meant the AC and steel tariffs cost us manufacturing jobs.

Why are stupid people permitted to hold office vote?
The irony of voters who are so against the socialism of Biden and then Harris pretty much demanding government handouts... wait, no, that's not irony, that's hypocrisy and outright racism.

Back when I started my career out at Grumman Aerospace (before they were bought by Northrup), the CEO at that time had started out on the assembly line.
The current General Manager of our (Northrop's) research and advanced design division started as a janitor - he probably pulls down ~$2M/year.

We have also had admins (secretaries) who made it to VP.

Tesla screwing its customers...
I just don't get how this is possible (i do, I'm just angry) when we have statutory definitions and standards for terms like miles and mileage testing.

And if they're not in some NHTSA standard, they're almost certainly some ASTM standard incorporated by reference.

The same losers who complain about a "male loneliness epidemic."
Considering the really young males, like the college-aged ones, voted more for fascism than plutocracy disguised as democracy, I hope all of them stay lonely and end up hanging by their necks in their fucking closets. No, not really, I just wanted to quote BASEketball. That said, fuck them ignorant motherfuckers.

I know I could because I’ve done it. Several times as part of checkout and commissioning of new systems. You sync your schedules to the shifts and do the paperwork after shift is done.

Then come back and do it tomorrow. Usually it’s a week or two.
