Dow below 40k (might dip into the 38 range) and NASDAQ is now classified as a Bear Market despite the jobs report.

FYI: I work at a Planet Fitness. Our TVs are preset, including CNN, CNBC, and Faux.

I'd say whenever I have to look at Faux, they're either gargling Dump, blaming Biden, accusing trans people of random shit, or going into hysterics about whatever Dems are doing.

So when I work in the morning, I see CNBC and CNN saying "this is bad" and Faux doing whatever the hell they're doing.
 
Chris Murphy says these tariffs have nothing to do with trade, and everything to do with Trump consolidating political power. That all these companies will have to pledge their undying loyalty to Trump and everything he does in order to gain their exclusions from the tariffs, or whatever else they need to stay in business.

And the poor unwashed masses will be so occupied with just trying to eke by that they have no time or will to oppose him.

More cope. Dump is the empty vessel for the ideas of crazed libertarian techbros. The techbros are crashing the economy intentionally so they can replace it with something that they the techbros will control.

The traditional media and traditional Wall Street people have no idea how to react to all of this because it’s utterly ridiculous.

Yep. A message i read on bluesky said the same thing...that our media is failing because they were never prepared to deal with people this incompetent. They keep looking for the true meaning amongst the chaos.

Pretty much. All of these moves are aimed at replacing a multi-polar government, where responsibility and control of various functions are spread throughout multiple groups like Congress, the executive, existing experts and department functionaries, the courts, etc. with a uni-polar government where everything's presence is at his pleasure. That's why they are firing first and asking questions later; to you or I whose goal is to see a properly functioning government and society it's an awful way to go about things; to them, who want the existence of any government job to not actually be on the legislation and other decisions that created them (because that means other people are involved in the process), but solely on the President's beneficence, so that they must continue to kiss the ring to keep it, it's the correct way to go about things.

At some point, someone just has to tell the media the truth: They’re idiots. They used ChatGPT to generate the numbers. There’s no grand plan beyond a bunch of idiots trying to implement their idiotic ideas.
 
Nintendo is pulling preorders for the Switch 2 in the US market.

"Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the US will not start April 9 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions," it said in a statement.
It says it still intends to launch the console on June 5, as originally planned.
Nintendo confirmed the announcement applies to the US market only, so UK pre-orders will not be affected.
