Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

Kinda hard to believe that bullsh** when the new news director that was hired a year ago or so was found out to be pretty right leaning.

You nailed it though, it's moderate / Diet Republican views sold as the "liberal" view. Every attempt to be the "FOX News of Democrats," was just a half-assed attempt at best to make the Libs like them.

Honestly, MSNBC could save the money and just air Khaby Lame (from TikTok) making these hand motions at a simulcast of FOX News and it would still get the same ratings as current MSNBC talent do.

I got in a fight on Bluesky over Maddow giving out thoughts and prayers over the firings. Dude was acting like she would lose all influence if she quit...more people would listen to her doing a 20 minute YouTube podcast in 1 day than watch her combined in a week.

Really because for the most part all of their ratings sucked outside of Maddow and I think O'Donnell. MSNBC is watched on par with Gopher Hockey if I read right that is why Comcast is selling them for scrap.

Even if we take the firings at face value (hah its Comcast!) they could have fired any number of people who stink and no one watches. (including Jen Psaki and Michael Steele who can barely talk on camera) No one watches any of the shows and there are plenty of people who make way too much money for a failing network. (**cough**Morning Joe**cough**)

The real problem is, this is supposed to be the home of Progressives and the majority of their on air talent are at best Centrists (or flat out Republicans) and they look the part. Touting Michael Steele for diversity is rather ironic since he was head of the Republican Party. Alicia Mendez is nothing special (her show is not exactly a ratings bonanza) and Symone Sanders is...well I think she made her bones as VP Harris' staff. (may be wrong) Hell even Maddow is not exactly a foaming at the mouth liberal these days. Reid was really the only true Progressive on the network. This stinks of trying to make MSNBC look less crazy for potential buyers.
I don't think so. It's number. Reid's ratings were at least 10% lower than the rest of the primetime hosts and Nicole Wallace had 35% higher ratings. So I kinda get why they wanted someone else

MSNBC isn't supposed to be anything. It's not a progressive channel or a moderate channel or anything. It's a business. They'll be whatever the market wants them to be. To think anything else is just wrong.

And to call maddow anything but a progressive is laughable. She's not a moderate. Same with Lawrence. That guy is a dyed in the wool socialist. Obviously Wallace and Steele are centrists. Hayes is more of a liberal to pressure wonk.

Every time I've watched Reid I never feel like I've come away having learned anything. That's not true for Sanders or any of the other current hosts like Hayes, Maddow, and O'Donnell. Reid reminds me of the Ed guy who used to be on there. No insight, just outrage.

And getting back to Steele, if your policies and guests can't stand up to a soft grilling by Michael Steele, they're not that strong to begin with.
