Problem is, Signature Bank is heavy into crypto.

People who put "ex-BigCo" or "frmr BigTime" in their social media bios are just silly. Why would you define yourself by the big name former employers you've worked for? Just pathetic, really.

Depends on who is hiring you. You would be dismayed at how many people read my resume and were more interested in Nike than MIT Media Lab.

Apparently SVB required most borrowers do do most or all of their banking with them as well, which explains why so many tech firms were impacted. Some had been creative with LLCs and spread their deposits out, but mostly they did not.

So I don't really live in the finance world, but apparently, while FDIC covers 250k, there are plenty of options to cover amounts in well excess (millions, maybe more) of FDIC. Insured cash sweeps was one I saw mentioned. Amazing how many of the VC/start-ups weren't aware of that.

I think I found drew:

Capitalism won’t make most of us as rich as Elon Musk, but it’ll make most of our grandchildren richer than him—just as it made most of us richer than Rockefeller in nearly every way that matters

It'll work as well as the current Minnesota ban on corporate ownership of farmland.

Well, it's certainly working better than Missouri who repealed their law and now China owns more land in Missouri than the Lake of the Ozarks covers.

If it works, great. If it doesn't work we'll enact stronger laws.

It is important to remember that we do live in a democratic system, however flawed. The rich can delay change and buy politicians but not entirely and not forever. Keep pressing, keep voting, keep organizing. The only reason we have ever made headway against the rich was because of the unrelenting pressure of the power of numbers. That's what we have and, short of machine guns, the cheats cannot stop us forever.

You talking about a recent law or the ones Minnesota passed from decades ago? I’d say they’re doing fairly well at this current moment in time, unless a lot has changed since an article in the Strib came out from a handful of months ago that reported only 1.6% of farmland in Minnesota is foreign-owned.
