The Fed will always prefer one million go hungry than one billionaire lose a dollar.

They are chartered to keep both in mind but they have completely been captured by the rich since at least the 80s.

40 years of Reaganomics and counting.

It's working exactly as designed; it is the new Gilded Age Republicans aimed for.

But it is a choice, and it can be reversed. Radical redistribution through punitive taxation of high income and especially wealth hoarding will rebuild the middle class and improve the lives of 99.9% of Americans and return our economic dominance. All that needs to be done is to remove the cold, dead hand of the wealthy from blocking our democracy.

Not that Raeganomics has helped but there is the bigger problem of not enough resources. We’ve reached a point where there just isn’t any land left around major cities which has significantly driven up the cost of housing.
