If the tariffs cost farmers 11 billion , why did they get 28 billion in aid. Nice 17 billion gain.

Cost them 11 billion from selling their crops.

They got 28 billion suckling the government teat. But they hate socialism.

Think if it this way. Instead of China giving them 11 billion, you, me, and every other taxpayer in this country gave them 28 billion. That make it any clearer for you? Or should I type slower?

Give Suzie a wave in the airport terminal for me.

You don't have to get mad about it.

You should be mad about it. Everyone in this country should be mad about it.

But no, instead you just play wise-***** on an internet message board.

Again, give Suzie a wave for me. She's awesome, so down-home and one of the common people.

You're right that we should be mad about it, but implying that playing it differently on this message board, where a dozen or two people post the same thoughts over and over again, will move the needle any more is silliness. Nobody ever changes their opinions, and you could reach more people at a single PTA meeting. We appear to take ourselves seriously, but what we do here is pure play. Play therapy, perhaps.

Re: Business, Economics, and Tax Policy 8: Bezos Takes Over the World

I saw this on social media and it's too good not to share:

Boss makes a dollar
I make a dime
That was a poem
From a simpler time
Boss makes a hundred
I don't make jack
That's why I riot
To seize the means back

But once again, let's not eat the rich. We don't know where they've been. We compost the rich.

Mookie has a job mid 90s even where bossman saw papers in the head and sent a memo forbidding reading going forward.
We all doubled down and extended time so it got to peeps having to find space on other floors :p

Another company McNerney and the legacy of Jack Welch has destroyed. Thank god our company got rid of his *** before we penny-pinched ourselves to death.

Though, we’re starting to do that again. At least we don’t have to change our clocks twice a year anymore!

Honestly, that clock thing seems like a no-brainer to anybody managing the bank accounts. $10400+ twice a year to set clocks on that campus? Oomph dat. People have their cellphones now.

Re: Business, Economics, and Tax Policy 8: Bezos Takes Over the World

They have clocks that set themselves. Lithium batteries last a decade in clocks.

Plus there’s the principle behind it. This is really where we’re at? Trying to save $10k a year when we have a bloated management structure? This is a $30 billion company.

Lemme guess. No more clocks?

Re: Business, Economics, and Tax Policy 8: Bezos Takes Over the World

Yeah. They took them down a month or two ago.

It’s not the clocks themselves. It’s just one more thing in a long line of “**** yous “ from management.

It never would have occurred to me to go along that line of thought. In the two towers my employer put up in 2016 in Minneapolis, the only clocks in place are either part of your desk phone, cellphone, your computer, or on a security desk - of which there is only one per building. There are no wall clocks and nobody even gives the lack of them a second thought.
