He apparently slashed two UML guys on his way over to the celebration. Only got a 5 and a game misconduct so no automatic suspension. League could go back and assess one but from someone who saw it (I didn't) it wasn't worthy of a suspension, just the 5 and a game.

The dicey part would be the time he took the penalty. No real punishment in getting a game misconduct there. Depends on what he actually did though.

It's not really changing to a DQ. Just a one game suspension. That difference is important because there is a cumulative effect if you were to receive multiple DQs in a season.

This plus a DQ is an automatic one-game suspension that the league can't change.

Since this wasn't a hit and a real player safety issue, more a dirty uncalled for play, it would seem unlikely the league adds a game.

the commissioner was in attendance at game so don't know what he saw
Bowers was pretty loose with stick all night
Third period could have been BU's best all season defensively

Ok that makes sense. That’s what I was wondering because I thought x number of dq’s was another suspension.

It really was, the positioning and fundamentals were the best they've put forth all season. I don't think Lowell got more than three or four legitimate chances at Jake in the third.

This has to be one of the MOST frustrating BU teams I have ever seen. Inexplicable this attitude that after winning ONE game they can come out flat on the road with a chance to win the series and get to the Garden. It's not like this is a 30 win team...they're .500!!!!!!!!! Geez....

It doesn’t sound like Farance’s message got through. Playing like they have 2 games to win 1. They just don’t get it. Just like Bowers thinks he should mix it up with 30 secs left in a 3-0 win.

Bernie thought they might take Oettinger out after a bad first period to rest him for tomorrow, but they didn't. I'm not "watching" (listening on radio), but it doesn't appear as though he's particularly sharp. That being said, I have no idea how the team is playing in front of him (which doesn't sound all that great either).
