BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Hey now!!!
"I'm" more than good. :)

My team however needs to take less penalties and win more face offs :p

5-1-1 is impressive so far. And they're winning games that they would have lost last season. Lots of things going well so far, but agree that there are things they must improve on:

1. Fewer penalties
2. Win more faceoffs
3. Consistent secondary scoring. Noticed that Baillargeon is1-1-2. Really need to get him and his line going to take pressure off Eichel's line.

Sooooooo looks like we know who the clear #1 goalie is.

Yes. Frosh looked shaky last night.

Despite the early goal, let down game, but yet battled back to lead in the third. UConn played a solid game and blocked a ton of shots. Onward...

Yes. Frosh looked shaky last night.

More than a bit, repeatedly out of position, fundamentally unsound, obviously questioning his own decisionmaking as he was doing it, and goals three and four were just atrocious.

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Which is interesting given I thought he played extremely well out at UMass last month.

When BU scored to go up 4-3 my son wanted Coach to put O'Conner in. #Closer

Really happy with the results of this weekend, and I've never been the most optimistic poster out here. ;) Solid win at BC in their own barn after they were coming off a loss. Coming from behind, even after that ridiculous shorthanded goal on the giveaway, says a lot about the character of a young team.

Yeah, it would have been nice to get the W vs UConn but they didn't fall into the classic trap game and it might be time to acknowledge that UConn is a little better than oh, I don't know, the whole world thought? Some questionable officiating didn't help matters. I could see not getting the calls up in Conte but I don't get it on our home ice.

Lastly, if there's a better player in all of college hockey than Eichel please let me know because I'd like to watch them play. He basically does everything and his on ice vision is "Gretzkyesque". How's that for a jinx?

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Disagree; however, Orr was the greatest of all time. Anyways' let's not compare jack to these guys because he is never going to be them. He is a Bobby Ryan, if anything.

My favorite quote when maybe SI did a ranking of the greatest hockey players of all time (which went Gretzky-Orr-Howe IIRC) was from the person who voted for Gordie Howe, who said something like: Howe scored 15 goals in his last year when he was 52 years old. There are 20 year olds playing now who won't score 16 goals in a year over their whole careers

Regarding Eichel, I'd be happy if he cracks the Drury-Wilson "Best BU Player Over the Last 20 Years" discussion.

For starters, let's start with the Drury-Wilson pairing. Yes, Wilson was finalist for the Hobey, but #97 won it, so shouldn't he be in that discussion? (And in my opinion, Wilson was not even the best forward on the 2009 team.)

And has not had the most successful NHL career of the 09 team, that's Shattenkirk easily.

A few forwards, 3 dmen and a goalie had better years then Wilson in 2009
