BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Always nice to get a win in Conte but even better right now. It was kind of sloppy but the youngest team in college hockey went into a hostile environment, came back from being down 3 times, and found a way to win. A very likeable and fun BU team to watch that should only get better. As a BU fan you can't be more pleased or have predicted such a good start.

Crap. Is this one of those wins that ends up as a loss long term because our opponent no longer counts in PWR? I think that's 3 consecutive losses (opponent), compared to 1 loss all season (BU).

ha i'd take you up on that bet if you think that's how it ends up!

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

That was a pretty good win, but before BU goes and crowns themselves national champs they should probably realize none of the teams they've played currently have a winning record. Just saying. Good start, but a long way to go. Baby steps. Next step 11 wins.

#9 has his own chant and everything.

But he's no Gerbe (9). Didn't see one wrist slashed, thumb broken or blood all over the ice. Softie. :p

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

That was a rather evenly-matched game. I don't think BU played their best game, but it was good to see them get the W anyway, especially after that absolutely terrible SHG.

Any word on how Ahti is feeling after not playing the second two periods?

I didnt feel BU played their best game either so that's a good sign. Some sloppiness in key situations .That poor third period PP could have cost them the game two lazy plays one on the BC goal and in offensive zone when they floated around for 30 secs not doing much and then lost the puck late . On the late 3rd period PP Somerby just iced the puck for no apparent reason. Eichel needs a finisher on his line that was evident . Both of ER goals were individual efforts but he blew two perfect setups from Eichel. OReagan could step it up a bit playing with Eichel too.

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Drilled a shot into Gilmour's back after the final whistle, though.

"Drilled" is a little strong a word. "Flipped" would be more appropriate. And I think there was linesman behind him, who he was actually trying to get it to.

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

Great effort by BU to keep coming back. A little luck was on their side, and they had more dumb mistakes than I've seen in any of their games so far. Like Jofa said, that one PP where they refused to shoot - what were they thinking?

- Diffley and Somerby were on the ice for the first two BC goals. Actually, on the second, Somerby was nowhere to be found - I think he went for a line change at an ill advised time.
- Eichel has come down to earth a little. Needs to pick up the pace a little bit against a team like BC. They were on him very aggressively. Perhaps he'll pick up a couple points tonight.
- Good to see Hickey pick up a couple assists after his mistake cost us a SHG against. That's the perfect example of what you will sometimes get from talented but young defensemen. And we have 4 of them. So there will be nights like that.
- I think last night was the first real game where we have given up more than two goals.
- I hope Ahti is ok. Didn't notice which hit it was that he was injured on. I imagine Piccinich will be back in tonight.
- Nice to see Rodrigues playing well. Moran too.

Former Terrier Colby Cohen and Former Eagle Pat Mullane had a bet on last night's game. Colby won.

Re: BU season thread I - 2014-2015

I'm concerned about tonight. Talk about a let down. Especially for a young team.
