I wish we had people like him writing for the papers and this website. He brings us information and tidbits on prospects that is most welcome.
Maybe he is a little crass in his delivery that turns some people off. But Bill parcells for example is the same way and people here love that guy.

Has anyone met buoldtimer? Does anyone know his background?
Given his strong opinions and the confidence with which he dispenses his insights and information, I must surmise that hockey is his livelihood.

Norm Bazin must've received an admonition this morning via Voice Mail, or text. "

That stat is inconceivable given his performance last season, even taking mono into consideration. After Eichel, he's the most talented forward on the team. I saw last night's game live and on replay. Sadly, I took scant notice of Baillargeon. Olsson or Greer would be a much better fit - one man's opinion.

A lot is being made of Eichel punching the glass. I saw it live, haven't seen the broadcast yet. Not sure what the big deal is. I for one was happy to see him show some emotion. And frankly, to see his tears afterwards was reassuring - it just validates all he has been saying about how proud he has been to wear his school's sweater for the first time in his life.
Also, on the GWG after a timeout - Correct me if I am wrong, but this was right after an icing call, correct? Not excusing Quinn or the execution, faceoffs are always key. But it isn't like a draw in the last minute where winning the draw is your only chance to win/tie the game. There were, what, 6 minutes left? He called the timeout so that he wouldn't have tired guys out there, not to draw up a play to salvage the game.

Didn't see this point made, but a key contributor to PC's win was staying out of the penalty box and making BU's 25+% power play a non-factor.
More than one poster has suggested that Eichel banging the glass once, means he was "losing it." A moment's frustration in a tense situation--where he certainly felt he'd hurt his team--is just that and nothing more.

Sorry to ramble and I feel weird about posting here at this time but I didn't want too much time to go by.
First I'd like to thank all the BU posters (I've been fortunate enough to meet so many of you over my years of posting on USCHO) and the BU fans in general for being such great sports both before and after the game. You were ALL (every single one that I saw on Saturday) classy before and especially after the game.
I attended all but maybe three games BU games at Walter Brown from 1978 until I attended PC in 1987 so I know a great deal about the Terrier fan base and I was still stuck by the kindness shown to us PC fans. My son and I were very impressed by the level of class shown by the BU fans. I was among the BU fans in Loge 2 and went to take as discrete a selfie with my 17 year old as possible after the game. A gentleman sitting in Loge 3 politely grabbed my phone and said "Let me take it for you so you both can enjoy the moment." Pure class. I want to thank him for being such a good example of a good sport. He had a cane and I know it was a difficult balancing act for him but he offered anyway. I also appreciate Coach Parker posing for a shot with my son and I seconds before puck drop (I'm sure I came across as a fanboy) and I appreciate the BU posters who stayed behind with us PC fans to talk about how surreal the moment must have been for us based on their past experiences.
Thank you all for being so great I'll remember that for years to come.

Trying to think of plays that stood out and one was grizzlick (i think)...had a great chance to shoot in gillies in 3rd and curled away and ended up passing puck. I may not have all details right but it stiod out to me like wow i hate the people who just yell shoot but i cannot believe he didn't fire away there

Someone on the UML thread said he threw a tantrum. Right. A tantrum. The biggest game of the year, a close, emotion-filled game, with everything this kid has had on shoulders for the previous week, and season for that matter. Gets called for a penatly and he can't show any emotion? JFC. These are the same fans who take issue with the amount of coverage he's received.

As I've been saying for a couple of days, you can't compare this situation for these guys to ANY other situation they have been in previously. He was probably trying to make the perfect play...it was surprising only in that I haven't seen a lot of that with Quinn's teams...saw it a lot with Parker's.
