BU Recruiting Update--Part 5

As part of the NCAA/CHL rule change, a drafted player committed to an NCAA team can play in an NHL Rookie Tournament if he'll be playing in the CHL this season (think that's it ). So Haoxi Wang is rostered with San Jose's team for the Golden State Rookie tournament. Also on the roster: Mike Misa, Cam Lund, Colin Graff, Sam Dickinson and former Denver goalie Matt Davis.

The QMJHL will hold a top prospects game on October 21 and announced the first 12 invitees, which includes 2026 recruits Yegor Shilov and Rian Chudzinski.

Lars Hutson, a smaller D like Lane and Cole, isn't a recruit...yet. Puck Preps' Ryan Sikes reports he "has been impressive in preseason" for USHL Muskegon. A 2009, he's earned a roster spot on the team that also has 2026 recruits Tynan Lawrence and Viktor Norringer.

TSN Scouting Director Craig Button has Carter Meyer in his top 3 for the 2027 Draft.
“This guy has a motor that revs at high RPMs and a skill set that matches,” said Button. “He’s by you, through you, over you. He’s a hard, hard player to contain.”

2027 recruit Brady Knowling has been added to the preliminary camp roster for the U.S. Junior National Team that will play in the WJCs. Knowling led the US to gold in the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup this summer and more recently stopped 42 shots in the first game win in the CHL-USA Prospect Challenge.

While I think only about 3 players should depart for the pros after this season I could easily see it rise to 5-6
However if you look at recruits for next year there are supposedly 11 coming in
This either means more turning pro, others exploring the transfer portal or some deferring for a year
