bu off-season - #1

Re: bu off-season - #1

First game is on September 30th. I love hockey, I really love hockey, but this is getting ridiculous. There will now be only two months that don't have either BU or NHL Hockey. For the benefit of my marriage (20 years last week), this needs to stop...

Half the home schedule is complete by November 11th
Same problem as two years ago.
Also don't understand exhibition game Oct 1st day after first game with Union
These games have to go- end result is goon fest and possible injuries

2 years ago there were 12 home games in Oct-Dec, with 5 home games in Jan-Feb. Not a fan of the front nor back-loading the schedule w/ home games.

Some years it's worse than others - i.e. in 2008-09 there were also 12 home games in Oct-Dec (although 2 of them were the Ice Breaker), whereas the 2007-08 season only had 6 home games in Oct-Dec.

Also, congrats to Nick Bonino for his second Cup.

I really thought the series was going to take a turn for the worse for Pittsburgh when Bonino went down. He's just so valuable in all areas. Hell of a player.

Re: bu off-season - #1

That was seriously old school playing the rest of that game with a broken leg. Tip of the cap for that performance.

While on vacation last week, I had a guy sitting next to me in a sports book trying to justify how bad and overrated Bonino is during that game. His arguments were....something.

Re: bu off-season - #1

That article has him coming this fall- everything else points to 2018
Really don't need him this year

With Bellows' departure, does one of the nine Ds move to forward? Didn't Switzer skate at forward once or twice last season?
Sr. Hickey, MacLeod, Diffley
Jr. Switzer
So. Krys, Fabbro
Fr. Farrance, Crotty, Kotkansalo

Ben Prentiss, BU’s Strength & Conditioning Consultant, is adding the same position with the Rangers.

Diffley has played wing, and would seem the mostly likely candidate.

Good for Connor. It looks like he will get to compete for the starting job against senior Aaron Nelson and junior Jason Pawloski.

Should make the series vs Mankato at Agganis pretty interesting. Excited to see these two play, hoping for a LaCouvee vs Oettinger matchup

After limited ice time as @TerrierHockey freshman, Johnny McDermott in camp with @TriCityStorm. Could return to BU in '18-19, per source
