BU-Merrimack 11/13 and 11/14

Re: BU-Merrimack 11/13 and 11/14

you did not say that.

grammar 101:
"brathwaite is 24, cannata is 19, a true freshmen"
the phrase "a true freshmAn" refers to the one before it, "cannata is 19" which is written in present tense, thus you implied that cannata is 19 and a true freshman.

I know exactly what I meant, wouldn't ya think? You dope.
It means he came in as a true freshmen, which he did. When you call someone a true freshmen it means they started at 18, does not mean what age they are that day
I get that it is difficult for you to understand but try.

Re: BU-Merrimack 11/13 and 11/14

Heh. Millan has more wins in an average reminiscing daydream than Cannata has in his career. Hokydad might be the worst poster on USCHO.

A shooter tutor would have won 15 for BU last year. Keep daydreaming then because thats what will be happening from the bench if he doesnt start daydreaming about stopping the puck. Parker will bury him faster then you can say it

Umm... no. A true freshman is no longer a true freshman when he becomes a sophomore. Then he becomes a true sophomore. You see, there are two rules to being a true freshman -- the "true" part (meaning he's one year removed from high school) and the "freshman" part (meaning it's his first year of college). Once one of those rules is broken (in this case, the "freshman" part), he is no longer a true freshman.

Once a true freshmen, always a true freshmen. You say it your way, I will say it mine. It is a term used by coaches to insinuate that the kid was 18 when he started. Heard someone just last night mention how you dont see many true fresmen anymore, then they mentioned Steve Whitney and his brother Joe as 2 of them. Go figure, the whole world isnt as smart as you...

Re: BU-Merrimack 11/13 and 11/14

Age has nothing to do with it.
A true freshmen comes in directly after graduating high school. The kid could be 17, 18 or 19.

exactly. Age though is not the key factor either. You have kids that repeated hs years etc and thus would not be a true freshmen.

We all know what a true freshmen is and Cannata is one of them. My impression is the BU kid is as well. MC's other golaie is not though.

No. Not at all. Joe Whitney was a true freshman. He's not anymore. I don't even know why I'm trying to explain this to you. It's pointless. I'm done.

Probably would have been easier if I had said, "was" a true freshmen. Funny though how I had 3 private messages sent over saying they agreed with my point as it is a term commonly used amongst coaches but didnt want to post as a few of the guys arguing against it will only attack you on several threads if you disagree with them. No kidding.......

Also CC, the video you uploaded is getting national attention, well done.

Can I take partial credit I demanded he post it on YouTube? :)

Nice work CC. I'm glad this video is getting the attention it deserves. Next stop, a Sports Guy Mail Bag.

None of BU's goalies are true freshmen. Two sophomores and a junior.

And FWIW, I think Rollheiser was as he was drafted right before arriving here, but I'm not sure. Millan and Kraus both spent extra years in juniors. I'm really not getting why this is even relevant.

Yes, you can all have credit. It's pretty funny to see the views keep going up and then checking the tracking to see where it's been linked from.

Re: BU-Merrimack 11/13 and 11/14

Good goalies steal games. last year BU won the champioship game in spite of the goalie. He is 2-6 and was pulled for a reason.
He is a good goalie but not close to Cannata who did exactly what he had to do in the first period to give his team a chance to win. BU's d did poorly because MC is a better team.
just like Cannata is a better goalie.

hmmm. and what does the nhl think???

millan____5th round, #124 overall (2009) - Colo
(rollie_____6th round, #158 overall (2008) - Tor - here just for good measure.)
cannata__6th round, #173 overall (2009) - Van

for calls against both sides, they each once waited a good four seconds after the "penalty" to raise their hands and call it.

the trip against Eric behind the goal near sec107 - the ref right behind him and watching it didn't call it. but the other ref a mile away on the other side of the center line did.

just all around awful.

i remember turning to my friend last night saying "it's like they see a play, stop, read a book, have a cup of coffee, talk to their mom, then decide if they want to call it."

Colorado is enamored with all things BU, we know that. ;)

Cannata is of course the better prospect here, and Vancouver will just ship out Luongo and then Schneider can back up Cannata, right Hokydad?

They did a great job with that 5x3, who's supposed to come out of the box fiasco too.
