BU @ Maine 1/28-29: Weekend at TIMMAY's

Re: BU @ Maine 1/28-29: Weekend at TIMMAY's

Are there any people out there that actually care that this a huge series for both teams? Glad to see people posting the next edition of Orono, Maine best places to eat cookbook tho.

Maine is inconsistent as hell, as is BU, what do want us to say. This isn't the 90s anymore, Maine is a shell of its former self

Re: BU @ Maine 1/28-29: Weekend at TIMMAY's

Does the kid get his scholarship next year or does jackie pull it?

so, if there are optional workouts that, if missed, will get a kid tossed off the team, doesn't that really make them mandatory?

and if they are mandatory during weeks when the NCAA prohibits mandatory workouts, didn't Satan do something worse than allow the cafeteria to serve double pudding helpings?

is the NCAA gonna stick its nose in, or does it only do that when Jackie drops a dime, or when a couple defensemen are caught with cocaine in their systems?

Last, as much as I hate Jackie boy, I am sure that Mr. Glass is not telling the whole story. Jack has not gotten where he is by treating his players like Glass and father reported in the FREEP
and who is the dolt who published that drivel in the first place... he said without a he said... this is just as bad as the idiocy in the BDN when they report the one-sided police reports "as news or fact"

They are very inconsistent. . I would like to see them gain national relevance again as all of us would but its gonna take time. Maybe shouldn't have taken this long but they are moving in the right direction. College hockey as a whole in the past 6 yrs or so has become very competitve and lots of parity. With the exception of a handfull of teams its a grind year in and year out.

There's work north of Orono?

heck, there's anything north of Orono?

Potatos, and oriented strandboard... thriving industry up here! (Paper not doing so well!) My god the stretch of I95 from Bangor to Holuton seems long when its dark...

OK, I am going out on the limb here and say that one of these teams comes away with at least 2 points this weekend. :D

So, are there planned fan giveaways with a red motif as always seems to happen when BU is in town? Thank you Bangor Savings Bank for these "lovely" thunder sticks. :p

Yeah, but the thought of hitting a 3,000 pound moose at 80mph keeps you wide awake.

I don't care who wins, but I have to say the title of this thread is the best I've seen in a long time. Kudos.

Believe there are towels for tonights game. Much quieter than Thunder Stix.

Are they red, blue or a neutral white?

They were a neutral white. Made it harder to detect when they were thrown on the ice. ;)

Question for you Maine folks - the arena looked brighter than I recall. New lights? Was the ceiling painted? Definitely an improvement. The place looked good. And despite the few empty seats I don't think I've ever seen in Alfond, it was loud. Especially when those two quick goals were scored. The building was rocking.

I thought it was a really good game last night, though I'm sure my viewpoint is a tad biased. But it was definitely intense on both sides, and much like the game at Agganis back in November, it was like a playoff game. I hope the intensity remains for tonight.

So how was everyone's pre and post-game dining? ;)

Yeah they added more lights over the summer and I think they raised them higher too. They also removed a lot of the old moldy insulation, or whatever it was, and painted it white, which helps the place get even louder.
