BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Getting outshot 22-10 thru two periods. They've got to find a way to create greasy goals. It feels like they are almost too selective. Defense mostly better, Big Mike much better, breakout is a big problem.

Big Mike showed up so far. Rest of the team is dead. Hutson can't be bothered to fetch a puck in his own end. Frequently leaves it for his partner or even a Cornell player. Looking at the benches, BU all sitting, Cornell all standing. Just another heartless effort.

Whew. That last penalty resulted from a casual and thus failed effort to fetch the puck on the boards. If they'd lost it would have been directly caused by one lackadaisical play. But thankfully they won.

Yep. That one play was awful. I thought they played well in the first, low energy but not stupid in the second and then went back to bad habits in the third but had more energy. Glad they pulled off a win though and maybe this builds some momentum (and is probably huge for NPI)

The last 3 BU “wins” have been maddening. The stupidity and badly timed penalties continue a long with other issues. Not a lot to feel hopeful about yet.

Too much uninspired/sloppy play. Big Mike bailed them out a few times. Still, something to build on. A win over Cornell in front of 18,000 mostly Cornell fans, is never easy.
Fixed your post.

I’m probably giving myself way too much credit, but after seeing the super creative and fun take on the social media promotion of this, I do wonder if they’re reading these boards. I did call them the Not Ready For Primetime Players after the dismal first game against Michigan State. Which, for you young uns was what they called the first cast of Saturday Night Live. And all the promo was a take off of Saturday Night Live. Which was all so well done. It was one thing that worried me about this game. Madison Square Garden? A bazillion Cornell fans? Could have been so much worse.

much too much negativity here- not a perfect game but lots of positives
goalie back to last years form- penalty kill is outstanding
After McLaughlin got hurt in first period thought Bednarik and Svoboda stepped up
Trethewey probably had his best game on defense and Eiserman a more rounded game
Was absolutely a must win game- now need to go on a run
