BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

I was at that Yale game. At least that game had the “excuse” of the World Jr kids out of the lineup. This is just a team that doesn’t want to compete and has zero offensive chemistry.
 
Wait, the game started?? From what it sounds like, that’s what the team is saying, apparently.

Oh, and I’ll say it again. This team does not play well in games that start before 7:00.
 
I’m baffled that we’re not ready to play our only game of the week against a team with a great reputation on the road. So far our results against non-conference opponents is going to kill us in the end, even if they manage to have a good Hockey East season. This is a bottom 10 team in college hockey in terms of goals against. Not interested in our defensive zone whatsoever. Unbelievable.
 
I didn’t hear the postgame interview, but from the quotes it seems Jay is dumbfounded. He ripped the effort as the worst game he’s ever been a part of (wow!) and said he guesses the coaching staff isn’t doing the right things to get the team to do the right things. I guess what worked in his first few years isn’t working with this group. I think some teams need senior type leadership more than others and it’s becoming apparent this group is not gelling much on the ice without it. Still these are surprising results with the number of experienced underclassmen, but I guess that hasn’t been enough. Time will tell if there’s a moment this season where things change.
 
Yeah got home late from running errands and was about to tune in. Saw 3-0 in the 2nd on the ESPN and decided "naw, I got other things I can do today."

Maybe they do their "get it together and become dangerous after New Year's" trick again, but...its not looking good at all.
 
Is it possible to get another defenseman before the 2nd semester if this doesn’t improve in the next month?
I’d assume it easier with the new eligibility rules

I'm sort of surprised that they are using Frechette . Has more experience and a certain toughness

It would have been great if Wilmer had stayed. Kid goes 100mph all the time, and he'd have been the leader this team is missing.
 
Last year slow start was mostly on goaltending which was rectified mid season and turned the season around this year it’s so much deeper. We are stuck with Celebrini because of his name unfortunately not sure if the others can learn the basics of effort, positioning, and judgement. Too bad they are wasting. Hutson, Boisvert, Eiserman and McLaughlin’s last year. Pandolfo chased Wilmer off the team which was total BS that kid has elite offensive skill and is all hustle.
