BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

they need guy(s) who scrap and dig, forecheck with some anger and get a few goals by sheer effort vs ‘first-round talent’…they are playing suburban hockey. There was a long stretch before the tying goal where I had to check to make sure it was not the second period, there was very little urgency and it sure didn’t look like a top team, behind, at home, coming off being swept, late in the game.

That was quite the fail after making it 3-0 in what was looking like a “comfortable “ game for a change. Now we have to hold on for dear life again…

Yeah. just feels like they're gonna choke up here and squander what was a fairly decent three goal lead.

They didn’t! What a great job on the PK to start the period- then they got back to business. Then they threw it into question again after an empty net goal? What is with this team?

A sweep against an always tough to play against MC you shouldn’t complain but that was hideous. Dumb dumb undisciplined team.

I actually liked much of what I saw last night. They competed, skated hard, were (in the main) much more crisp, and showed what they can be as a team as they continue to grow. The officiating was incomprehensible, and I think that got into their heads. That's a tough rink to play in.

They have to learn how to finish games or we’re in for some serious pain down the road. Either that or avoid leads.

Agreed. Lucky Big Mike wasn't DQed. I don't even think that was a legitimate minor. They've definitely been on the wrong end of some bad calls and non-calls this year, including the one that took out EIserman.

This. Times eleventy million.

A few random comments for a rainy Monday:
  1. Two wins and they drop in the polls? Mind you, I think they're still too high. I'm just a little curious how it works. Maybe it's better if I don't know. Has any other school plummeted like BU after being ranked #1? Might need to get BU Hockey Stats on that.
  2. Does Hockey East now officially award two players as Player of the Week? Sascha Boisvert and Josh Nadeau from Maine both won that today.
  3. Should we be more concerned about Eiserman's injury?
  4. Here we go again - playing a team that was upset by a much lower ranked team the week prior. Happened with Michigan State. Could happen again this weekend with Quinnipiac, who lost to Yale.
  5. Was anyone else who attended all 7 home games in October as surprised as I was when I found out the souvenir mug was actually glass?? I was glad.
And Jack Parker is officially in the HOF!! That's pretty cool.

BU went up in the USA Hockey poll from 13 to 12. USCHO's pre-season poll had Western Michigan and BU 1 & 2. Broncos are 5-5-0 and #9 in this week's USCHO poll.
That Pando interview with Colby on Morning Cuppa Hockey (44:05) definitely worth a listen.

Thumbs down on the start to this one. Our D looks slow. Could be 4-0 by now. Need to survive this period and go find something in the locker room. And this is against a team that was struggling. Wow
