BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

If its any consolation your second goalie (i sit right behind the net up top) made some fantastic saves on the Powerplay that got overlooked by the score. Easily saved 2 other goals
🤔

Give him a start. Make it a competition. Fire the goalie coach. SOMETHING!

Chewie came in two years ago and looked amazing then had a rough start last year.

Yego came in last year and looked amazing and has had a rough start this year.

Are we breaking good goalies? Different goalie coaches so I am not sure it’s coaching. Could it be the D being so rough it’s causing the goalie to feel the pressure of needing to come up big and fighting the puck?

Unless you are one of those people fascinated by car crashes
I’m surprised the coaching staff’s plan for the season was to play three 18 year old Freshmen defensemen every night. They may all end up being good players, but the staff should have known that three 18 year old defensemen (none 1st round picks) is a recipe for disaster.
Last year, Engum from U Lowell in the portal was a huge addition to add experience. Finding an experienced Dman from the portal, should’ve been automatic. I’m sure plenty of good dmen from other teams would’ve had interest

I wonder if they didn’t expect some of the departures we had and that’s why we are in this position.

pretty much agree with this
Thought the one game he played on defense that Frechette was pretty good and maybe should play there
Brings a physical game to the position

Who are you guys and what have you done with the real Maine fans????

Good place for your big goalie to get some humility and gain some scars.

Scarlet, rest assured Maine fans still despise BU, Pandolfo, Parker, etc… the whole fucking lot… sux2BU

Except Chuck the BU fan from Maine. He was fun to drink beers with, super good dude. Hope he’s doing well.

Not at all a goaltending problem. The whole team is an embarrassment in their own zone. They've hung Mike out to dry at least five times in every game this season. It started with the parade of breakaways against Michigan State and has progressively gone further downhill.

Who else is going to skate?

Also you tell some kid to wait a year because we got some portal transfer….and guess where he goes instead? Quinny or nu or wherevs 🤔. Different world. Pando has to trust his staff (to develop and to recruit).
Mookie still remembers a game vs uhn where van reems turns shackenkirk into a turnstile coming down the right face off circle. After all there is a name for good 18yo defensemen….chris pronger. If they were already good they wouldn’t be here. mookie is willing to give them some time.
And if eiserman was able to skate maybe the terriors win those games 7-4 and 9-8 💁🏾

Apples and Oranges
Pronger and Shattenkirk were #2 and #14
These 18 year olds are #38. #73 and #75
You can have ONE of them in the lineup. If you have all three playing, you’re in trouble for that season.

And since you brought it up, Shattenkirk and Cohen were 18 year old Dmen during the Brett Bennett year…

You guys are all crazy...it's a slow start by a young team. Goalie issues too early to tell. He was fine when you threw him in the fire last year. 18 draft picks will figure it out. It's only Nov 3.

I think you are right (about them figuring it out and us being a little crazy). The reason I am frustrated is the gap between my expectations for this team at the beginning of the season and reality. I expected a team that would dominate possession and shots with a dynamic offense but have the young guys make a couple stupid mistakes a game that made the games closer/tighter and even cost us some games early in the season as they matured. The current reality is a team top to bottom that can’t handle basic puck management (boda being the primary exception) and has some players that regressed from last season. I still believe they can turn it around because the talent and coaching are there.

Agree the D sucks and they've hung him out to dry, but where's the big save to bail the team out?

Teams and players are suffering from unreasonable expectations after we were lucky enough to see Celebrini/Smith/Leonard two years ago.

Being concerned about a national title favorite going 1-5 in a 6 game stretch while giving up 6 goals per game isn’t unreasonable

I know Merrimack is not a high powered offense (2.7 g/g) but defense first tonight maybe? Our defensive efforts seems to make everyone good on offense this year! Need to start to turn this ship around…
