BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Eiserman is definitely gone. Hopefully Kaplan. No one talks about Wilander hope he plays a 3rd year. CHutson could probably justify having the impact in the NHL next year that Lane is having.

1) Do you know something about Eiserman or are you just making a statement? I don’t think he leaves. Definitely after next year but I think he comes back.

2) I’m pretty sure Kaplan is gone after this season.

3) IF BU wins tomorrow night, I can see a case for Cole Hutson leaving but even Lane stayed two years. Quinn is definitely gone.

No I never know anything I’m sure that’s been evident many times over the years. I don’t see him as a college guy there were times this year where he seemed disinterested even with the World JR team he seemed aloof. Plus though he wasn’t a great 200 ft player most of the year I see his sniping ability as a big asset at the next level . 24 goals is a serious season for an 18 yr old and a lot of those were at clutch times in big games . I’m a big fan of his. Lachance gone I’m sure as well seeing that he was a SO captain

Back after a long absence (my laptop refused to let me access the boards, so I finally dusted off the old Mac and fired it up).

As far as departures, here is what I see:

- Quinn, Kaplan, and Greene definitely gone. It's widely reported that Quinn will have multiple offers. Greene accelerated to graduate and Chicago isn't exactly stacked. Kaplan could come back, but I imagine the staff has let him know they expect he will be leaving. I assume the Flyers will want to sign him to not lose his rights.
- I don't see Cole Hutson leaving after 1 year. First, his brother has printed off the blueprint for him. Stay two years, and you may be able to step right in at the NHL level. Second, the Capitals are a top team, so it's pretty much a guarantee he would play in the AHL most of the season. Finally, I just don't think he is ready. Offensively he is no doubt. But he wanders away from his position a lot more than Lane did. Finally, Lane's best defensive ability is how he uses his stick. Cole is more physical but doesn't have Lane's stick skills defensively IMHO.
- Eiserman leaving would be a mistake, and I would be surprised if he does. Yes, his 200 ft game has improved significantly, but it's not like he's a great defensive forward. I also think he has some maturing to do. Case in point: after C. Hutson does 90% of the work on the goal against Penn State, Eiserman doesn't turn to his set-up man for his celebration - he skates away from him and does the superman celly. I may be old fashioned but that rubs me the wrong way and shows he has some maturing to do. Less "me", more "team".
- Willander - I'm hearing that Vancouver wants to sign him. That's too bad. He is such a rock for this team, it would be great to get him for one more season. But I get it - #11 overall pick, Canucks want to get him into the system.
- Lachance - given his age, I suspect he will sign. Devils now, right?
- Portal: hopefully Zetterberg sticks around, but who knows what he deal there was. I saw that he was taking Badnarik's slot in practice while Kamal was ill, so maybe it's not too bad? I wonder if Celebrini, Lacriox, Gorton, Frechette, Grimes will leave? Hopefully no surprises.

Glad I’m not the only one that felt that way. I remember thinking, “I bet Hutson takes the shot next time after that”

Very sad not having Larry Venis on the bench. No secret why he’s isn’t. Wonderful, kind, dedicated, and supremely competent, loyal, Terrier.
Haven’t seen him, but hope they offered to send Mike Dimella out to the tournament.

Don’t forget big mike… NJD starter is already mid 30s and next season is his last under contract. Mike shows how is comes in and saves a season could entice the devils to get him in and get ready for the long nhl/ahl grind 💁🏾

Losing Big Mike is a horrible thought… never occurred to me. I agree Eiserman has room for growth as a team player. And yes, he’s a sniper and a puck hunter but today’s NHL wants 200 ft players and while he’s gotten better in that regard he still
Is short on that measure.

I do not need to hear this. Why do you do this to me?
Let's look for Shane to achieve what his father, Scott, couldn't achieve in 1991, and his grandfather, Jack, didn't get in 1967. And Cole would have something else, besides a Beanpot, to hold over Lane. ;)

On departures/returns, defkit is spot-on.
