BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Looking forward to playing a new team in Penn State in St Louis. They look darn good. No teens on their roster at all - I just checked. It will be another heavy matchup against a very experienced team.

Wow, quite surprising that we’re the only HE school to the Frozen Four. Didn’t expect that.
Indeed. If I’m being honest, I didn’t have is tabbed as the last hockey east team standing.

Denver looks like they will be tough for anyone to beat.

I remember when Macklin left and Ryan Leonard stayed I was like “See? He has unfinished business and wanted to stay to get back to the Frozen Four” and now BU without Macklin and Lane have actually won tournaments. And made it back to the Frozen Four.

Who would’ve thought out of all the HE schools BU would be the one to make it to St Louis?

yah, mookie preferred the igles to advance. mookie knows the terriors can beat them. pios? not so much.
still gotta play a smart game for once to beat pedd st 🤔

Maine and BC are Frozen Four teams. And two Western schools. Book it.
Took some time this morning to back through this thread. It’s funny reading the posts no more than this one. 😀

More thoughts later on St. Louis. Now, I need coffee.

I love being wrong.

The FF consists of:
  • The 5th place team in the Big 10
  • The 3rd place team in HE
  • The 3rd place team in NCHC
  • The 1st place team in the NCHC*
While looking at the standings I learned that Long Island finished the year at 20-12-2. They swept Yale. They beat Vermont. Speaking of Yale... After that debacle in New Haven did anyone think we'd be here right now. The only HE team in the FF? Crazy.

*Only two teams from the NCHC in the tournament.

Sandbag Boy and Opposite Girl are legit strategies.

Penn St. is playing like a team of destiny. We’re done for again.
Going into last week, I was hoping Maine was the team of destiny, hot off the HE Championship, wasn't expecting them (though not surprised given the second half lack of consistency) to lay an egg. Everyone knew PSU was going to be a tough matchup in their backyard but to end the season playing that way was a tough pill to swallow. That said, agree PSU is playing like a team of destiny right now. Wish you all the best of luck!

If the derrieres keep their heads out of their derrieres they might win one. But man o man, Denver looks unbeatable. Even the igles couldnt touch 'em. Seems very strange for HE to have 6 teams into the tournament with only one left standing. Bunch of choke artists.

Denver in the tournament has always been an issue. Yet...WMU beat them a few times and they're not last years DU at all.

BC seemed weirdly "un-BC" in both games (and the HEA loss too). Not sure what's going on there but that was NOT the team that manhandled us twice and then for a period in the Beanpole.

Once.

Big Mike’s debut the boys were indeed shutout, but the igles got that pig to start the game, then an empty netter.

Bc is scary good, but mookie knew the boys have it in them to beat the igles. Pios, not so sure however 🫣

The good news - no Friday games at the Frozen Four. The bad news - BU seems to follow up good games with crap games. Who knows what to expect? Unfortunately if they play like crap on Thursday they don't get to redeem themselves on Saturday.

This tournament is Denver's to lose.
