BU at Maine -- 11/08/09

Re: BU at Maine -- 11/08/09

Sorry, I didn't catch it over the radio--too much competing conversation in my kitchen right now. Suffice to say that Connolly was overdue, though.

FL is there and posted this on the freep blog.

Scott (BHB):
Holy crap, that was pretty. Shattenkirk holds at the right point, slides over to Colby at the left point. Colby one-times the cross back to Connolly at the right faceoff dot, and he absolutely blasts a one-timer top shelf.

Re: BU at Maine -- 11/08/09

Maine misses the empty net... but BU ices it, so Millan has to go back in the net with 29 seconds left.

Re: BU at Maine -- 11/08/09

You can visually inhibit him as long as you don't touch him or prevent him from physically making the save.

Just blocking his view isn't enough. Refs blew it. Again.

tba, he can be in the crease as long as he is not interfering with the play or touching the puck... if he is standing in the crease, the moment he plays the puck, he is supposed to be whistled for being in the crease... for him to be able to be in the crease and play the puck, he must have possession, something he didn't have until the deflection... take off the scarlet colored glasses... you know the game well enough at this point to understand the rule...

Re: BU at Maine -- 11/08/09

Especially when the fanboy quoted the rule. If a player is standing between the goalie and the play while in the crease, it won't matter whether or not he deflects the puck, he is visually preventing the goalie from defending the goal. No goal. A two-year old can figure that out. TBA can't.

Re: BU at Maine -- 11/08/09

What is the correct pronounciation of Chaisson?

It can't be how Maine radio is pronouncing it.
I believe the correct spelling is "Chiasson." That my have something to do with why your expected pronunciation is different.

That makes sense. What about the bang bang plays where a pass puts the puck into the crease, if the player's stick is there early you're saying the goal should be waived off? Or no because it doesn't constitute possession?
