What does that mean? Is this just a team scrimmage? Fans invited? (There's nothing on the BU athletics site.)

Yeah it’s the same red and white scrimmage they did last year. No cost but an email went out a few weeks ago. There’s a post game thing in the club room. I didn’t get a chance to respond as I’m out of the country but I am planning to go. I’m pretty sure it’s during the day.

So I’m here in Athens. Walking around Monastiraki and I see this guy across the street wearing a Boston University t-shirt with a 33 on it. Which says to me he’s a Harry Agganis fan. I tried to cross the street to tap his shoulder and get a picture but three crazy fast taxis and one scooter almost killed me and by the time I could cross, he disappeared somewhere.

The event is for students and Friends of BU Hockey. Scrimmage begins at 11. No cost, but you'll need to get a digital ticket from Ticketmaster.

You sure it wasn't Colin Wilson? :-)

What a huge get: Cole Eiserman!!! Persistence pays off!!! Congrats to the staff for making it happen!! The talent pipeline is ridiculous!!!

Noticed on the roster that Caron has #62 and Celebrini has #71. Anyone know if there is a story behind the numbers? Or are we just allowing non traditional hockey numbers now?

Caron wore 62 at Brown. Celebrini wore 17 for the Steel. Not available, it's Quinn Hutson's, so 71 is the inverse.

Right - traditionally the only time BU players would wear non traditional numbers were unique circumstances (eg Gilroy as a tribute to his brother)

Ah guys.... We just landed the projected #2 pick in the 2024 NHL draft. I mean ... #eye bulge#. And you guys are talking about NUMBERS!? (Numbers. Not landing the top prospect, but numbers. Numbers..) : ) )

Twitter was blowing UP with this news yesterday. Jay and Joe are KILLING IT right now.

Yes, Jay and Joe are doing well with recruiting and that is big news.

Seeing the non-common hockey numbers on the roster made me curious as it would certainly be a change from a nice tradition if people are wearing them just because, and if the 71 and 62 were tributes of some sort, I was curious what they were.

The recruiting thread had more of the excitement!

Anyone else going to Bentley? I bought a ticket yesterday. A rare opportunity to see BU play in a rink nearby that I haven't been to (I think it is their first time playing there). Of course, I am also hoping to see more than a couple goals for the good guys, even if Willander has to sit it out and Macklin will very possibly be sitting it out to give his shoulder an extra couple weeks.

One week to puck drop!

I’m going!!

Here at the Scarlet and White Scrimmage. Celebrini already has a hat trick! I think the goalies have looked pretty good.

I'm going to Bentley on Saturday, but my curiosity is getting the best of me, so I'll ask now. For those who were at the Scarlet & White on Saturday, or who may have other sources of info, any word on line combos and D pairings?

Great article on Macklin in the Boston Hockey Blog/Freep today.

The BIG NEWS: He is planning to play this Saturday.

I thought it was a great sign that he did not have a no contact jersey nor any obvious restrictions during the scrimmage, but I kept in mind it was a friendly game with no checking. Much different than real game play.

I have no info, and this is probably a repeat of what I posted a few days ago, but I think on d, with Willander having to sit out a game, the following will play: C. McCarthy, Webber, Gallagher, Hutson, G. McCarthy. For the 6th, it will be interesting to see who among (my guess) A. Celebrini, Frechette, and Jarman get the nod.

Just purchased 2 SRO tix for $17 a piece based on Celebrini playing and no reasonable streaming options.
