BU '23-'24 Season: Pandomania

Announcers are saying Sacco is benched as well. Might be a coaches decision rather than a league suspension. Those guys were all kinds of off the hook last night, i don't blame the coach for saying, "no. cool it."

And of course BU isn’t taking advantage of it. They need to figure this goalie out. And stop taking stupid penalties.

What a 3rd period! I wasn’t liking how this one was going after 2. It seems like we should have had more than 1. Great comeback! Way to go into the break on a high note. Nice little cushion in the standings as well!

What happened with Jack Harvey? Only played in a couple of games.

I thought he was considered a pretty good recruit coming into this season.

Healthy scratch? Injury? FBI Witness Protection Program?

I believe Harvey is just having trouble cracking the line-up. I know he was mostly known as a goal scorer, and we have seen with guys like Keiffer Bellows that if you can't create the opportunities but can only convert them when others do, it is a tough adjustment when you move up to this level. Hopefully he will get faster and stronger and see more ice time in the second half. Plus it is always good to have the depth, because the injuries will come...

Four third period goals. This is the stuff that's going to win big games in March and April.

Other random thoughts as we hit the semester break:

- I wonder if David Sacco (Sr.) or Scott Young were allowed to sit in the players box. Could get awkward with Granddad there. : )
- Ryan Whitney was in the house last night
- My goaltending concerns have flown away... Caron is routinely making big saves night in and night out.
- I loved the way Nick's teammates mobbed him after he (finally!) potted on last night. (A big one at that.)
- A 4th line that can put the puck in the next is also going to win games in March and April
- I thought Luke let his emotions get the better of him last night. It seemed like Friday night's shenanigans had him over-amped

It's going to be a fun second half.

BU Hockey: Belief

I know that Polls (or Poles if you prefer.) don't matter, but BU & BC tied for #2 is something. It's gonna be a wild January and February.

No games for us, but we moved to #1 again in the PWR courtesy of Colorado College beating North Dakota. Thanks Tigers! Still things to watch….

Jan 19th thru feb 5 is a nightmare schedule.

Sure, the three games with BC will be tough, but if we weathered Oct/Nov we should be okay. This team is getting better and will benefit from those early season games vs North Dakota, Quinnipiac and Maine.

Moved back to #1 in the PWR. That was courtesy of Canisius beating AIC of all things. (Quinnipiac has 2 wins against AIC). As of now, 4 eastern teams are the top 4. I know much will probably change over the next few months, but if it ended like that Maine and BC would be going west. Those wins against Maine were huge. The BC series will also be huge, as well as that opening round Beanpot game. I’ll be heading up for the BC home and home this year -can’t wait to see these 2 go at it!
