BU '23-'24 Season: Pandomania

I'm...not sure what I've been watching.

You are watching run and gun hockey. BU is going to just try to out score teams this year similar to last year. They don’t play great defense and take risks but we had a goalie that bailed them out enough to cover for it last year.

Fair enough. I noted they are fast as they appeared last week. They're just leaving some wide open nets and need to sort that out.

Well they may have to rethink their style if play if they’re going to get goaltending like this.

Poor team defense does not equal “run and gun hockey”

Caron seems very jumpy especially in close. He goes down way too early and often which puts him out of position

Wow, what a stinker. UNH could move wherever they wanted. Pucks still jumping off sticks. UNH looked more poised and under control. Credit to them I guess, but we have to be a little tighter on our in zone coverage. It’s early. Hopefully this team will mature as we go.

BU dressed 7 drafted defensemen. They looked lost in their own end.

Let’s also remember they coughed up 9 to BC last season.

The Under 18 team might score 7 tomorrow.

Gallagher’s turnover leading to the 4th goal is what my daughter’s JV soccer team does. throw the pill up ice/field to nobody and hope. Brutal.

I heard the color commentator (Jim Connelly? who I normally like) talking about our goaltending and a few on this forum. I must have watched a different game because I don’t blame Caron for a single one of those goals. Sure, you need your goalie to step up and save ones to keep your team in a game… and he did. Team hung him out to dry. Played like they did when Albie was coach thinking they won the game as soon as they stepped on the ice because they have Boston University on the front of their jersey. ZERO COMPETE!… that said Peterson took a hit to start the sequence of Willander’s goal, Greene looked like he had a little hop on his step for what I recall the first time since the middle of last season, and A. Celebrini looked good. After Gallagher was rightfully benched it seemed like we were only playing 4-5 defensemen, good thing we dressed 7. Nice to see we have that problem again, only 4 the coaching staff trusts.

Gallagher was noticeably terrible but just like Bentley most of the forwards look inept and listless . At this point the sophs look very overrated except LH.
