BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Hope you all had a great summer.... Now, having dispensed with the pleasantries, where might our season tickets be?

If you signed up for the new season ticket "card," there was a delay in the printing and will be available at the exhibition game and will be mailed out if you don't pick it up then.

Mookie didn't see any option of offers when he signed up there...

Early in the Summer I got an email from the ticket office saying they were going to do a test run of a credit card sized season ticket card that you would show instead of a ticket. You had to opt in to the program and you do not receive paper tickets. If it works well they wrote that they were considering going over completely to cards instead of paper tickets.

Interesting

Last year Mookie used his phone for 80% of the tickets used and printed up via ticketmaster the rest.

App easier than a card. (Scarlet would lose it :D)

Anyone here interested in a HE fantasy league? I was thinking a 10 round draft, maybe 7 F and 3 D, 2 points for a goal, 1 for an assist, possible $ involved if there is interest. Either respond here or message me if you're interested.

Thoughts on the prospects game:

- McAvoy had some nice plays, but had a Fortunato moment where he dilly-dallied with the puck to the point of almost single-handedly causing a SHG against in the late stages of a tie game. On the same shift, he made the nice play to set up the GWG. He also pinched on his first shift causing the odd man break that led to the first goal. Other than that, he looked poised and confident.
- Krys had a nice game, made a great pass to spring the last goal for Team Roenick. I loved his interview - nice plug for BU "there are 4 of us going to BU..."
- Bellows had some decent looks, looked better as the game went on. Same thing with Keller. Although I have to admit I was hoping for more from them. Until late in the game, they didn't look any better than the other forwards to me. But they have a whole season to keep improving.

Others:
- Max Jones looked phenomenal. Did he commit anywhere before he went to the OHL?
- J.D. Greenway impressed me more than I expected. As the only uncommitted player in the game, I figured he would be near the bottom talent wise. But he made several nice plays, including a once set-up assist. Does anyone know if BU is considering him? Obviously the family connection would work.
- Too bad for that first goalie that got injured. I hope it isn't serious.

Interesting... i guess that would mean if you are giving your tickets away, only option would be to email, or "loan" your season ticket card.

I like technology, but I guess for tickets I'm old fashioned.

Thought the whole game was a joke. Looking forward to watching it until it became obvious it was a no check pick up game, friends and family only in attendance. the over and over talking about , "this kid is Caps GM's son", "this kid is this players son", on and on. That talk doesn't help the kids cause, hurts it

Not one kid there was not already known about and on central scouting. Zero chance any scout would or could change their opinion about a player in that type of game. Zero

My only hope is USA hockey kids didn't fund it

I think the Red Sox offer something similar as I was offered a card option for a 10 game package I renew each season. I believe there is an online portal where you can print or email a copy of the ticket to give to someone and I would hope BU would offer the same benefit. I'm with you though, I like getting the paper tickets.

Matt Tkachuk didn't treat it as no-check. He was hacking away at the d in front of the net on one occasion.

Preseason Puck Drop with Bernie Corbett and David Quinn at Sunset Cantina tonight, 7-8 p.m.
Watch the Live Stream at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoIYURDYkDA&feature=youtu.be
Details in this blog post

Did anyone go to this??

Also, was at the Garden on Saturday night for the Madonna concert and both the Beanpot and Hockey East banners were still hanging from the rafters. And, they have a new College Hockey at TD Garden display - the Beanpot has Eichel's #9 and the HE case has Grizz's jersey. So fun to see! Ah, memories. I may not be ready to let summer go (even though it's gone) but I am looking forward to the season starting.

They had the new case back in July when I went to the Imagine Dragons and U2 concerts (the banners were also hanging from the rafters as well). I believe that the Beanpot jersey was Grzelcyk's and the HE jersey was Eichel's. Since the Garden first installed the display case they have always displayed the jersey of the MVP of each tournament. It was nice to see BU jerseys again. :-)

USCHO's first poll has BU #3 behind BC and Duluth. Terrier schedule includes 8 current top 20 teams
http://www.uscho.com/rankings/

Strangest poll I have ever seen.
- UML at #14, with two first place votes, Denver, at number 5, with none.
- PC has 6 first place votes, but some teams above them only have one.
- Only one team from last years final poll dropped out. With roughly 25% of each tea changing over, really only one team was able to move up into the Top 20?
- Oh, how times have changed. Robert Morris and RIT both getting more votes than Michigan State.

With umd, yale, union and pc winning in recent years, more parity than ever (that and the expanded tourney field/format)

On Basketball - Just noticed that all the b-ball games are back at the gym upstairs this year.

Scouting this weekends opponent.

The Acadia University "Axemen" won the AUS (Atlantic University Sport) in 2013-2014.

They finished 2nd place (regular season) in 2014-2015 but lost in a best of 5 semi-final series against #3 St Marys.

Undefeated so far this year with pre season wins over Brock and Moncton.

I forget what this board's preferred brand of hot dog is, but the email just sent from HAA indicates this season they will be serving Kayem this year.
