Re: BU 2014-15 season threat III - Jasmine gets to see us 4 more times

It appears we have our usual Beanpot corner for the Frozen Four, band seats are in 305, students are in 307, I would imagine anyone who got them through Agganis are in one of those two sections or in a corresponding loge section.

phew, i'm on the other side of the rink

Anyone catch Jack Eichel hangin' on SportsCenter last night? He couldn't spell Grzelcyk. :) Nice PR for the BU and the FF.

I saw the 3 minute clip on ESPN - did they do any other FF talk? Couldn't find a replay of it anywhere, missed it live.

At the risk of starting this conversation again I'm just popping in to say BU is selling students more tickets from the school's allotment than they did in 2009, and providing them at a discount. Which is nice, IMO.

Looks like there was also a small thing where he was shooting at cutouts of Bucci and Melrose.

Question: Is there going to be a Friday night at the Frozen Four skills competition? If so, is that going to be held at Matthews, also?

Bucci did the first segment with him where he asked a few questions and then did a lightning round (that's where he screwed up the Grzelcyk spelling.) Then he was in the Levy Lounge with Steve Levy and Melrose. They did NHL hightlights together. They then asked him a few questions about his favorite NHL player, what was the most goals he ever scored in one season (Answer: 100 in Junior High.) He then participated in the Top 10 Plays of the night, reading three of them, and finally they taped a shooting drill with three pie plates with Bucci, Levy, and Melrose's face on them. Jack shot at all three, doing the most damage to Melrose's plate. (Top left corner.) At the end they asked him for his NHL picks for the Cup Finals (LA Kings, TB and the Habs. He didn't pick between those two Eastern teams.) Fun stuff. He said he had a Noon class on Wednesday, so had to get back for that. :)

Cool

Kids just need to remember that they need to sit in their ticketed seats :p

The opening segment with Buccigross, and the final segment with the shooting drill are on the ESPN website. I haven't been able to find/see the Levy Lounge portion.

FF skills comp has been gone for several years now. They just released a schedule of events yesterday. Weird that they are doing stuff at Matthews but it may work out ok.

Noticeably absent from the schedule is a skate on the Garden ice like most Frozen Fours have had recently (I think). Not impressed.

I like it, honestly. If HEA is hosting it, it's only natural that they'd find a way to showcase arguably the best rink in the Boston area, and one of the three best barns in the league.

Eichel may have mispelled Grzelcyk (who hasn't?) but, when asked where Chris Kreider went to school, he knew to say "up the street." ;)

Unless you want to actually watch a hockey game.

I know I'm in the minority, but Matthews is a ridiculously overrated place to see a game. The sightlines are brutal, concourses are narrow, many obstructed view seats. Not really a fan.
