Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

As a New Yorker, I have to admit that Nathan's hot dogs are not my favorite. There is just a little to much seasoning going on in them for my liking.
Back in the day, I loved Kahn's hot dogs served at Shea. Ball Park Franks and Fenway Franks are good, mild and meaty dogs. What usually ruins it for me in Boston is the yellow mustard.
Please serve spicy brown mustard - it goes much better with the pretzels and the hot dogs.

agree on Nathan's but any natural casing all beef will do for me, i'm not picky...........Fenway always has had Guldens so you should be all set there, dont agree on that though, I prefer the yellow

YELLOW?!?!?! YELLOW?!?!? :p

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

not sure i want to ask, but how did you come across this?

he's terrible, though granted if he weren't terrible he'd stand out.

I believe one of his since-deleted tweets was retweeted by Colby Cohen, and I noticed it, clicked further, revealed sheer idiocy. I wouldn't be shocked to see him fired for some of the things he tweeted over the past few days, a good chunk of which has since been deleted. Not someone I'd hire as my attorney...

Doyle Somerby is a Marblehead native and played at Kimball Union for Mike Levine who just took job as assistant at Brown. Former Maine coach Tim Whitehead is their new coach. He's a big dman who was drafted last summer so he will be big and physical.

Describing Somerby as "physical" suggests you've seen him play. Have you?

Also, your article on the USA Select 17 Camp made it sound like you attended the camp and watched the scrimmages. Did you?

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

Alexx Privitera acquired by USHL DuBUque where he'll join brother Jarrid. So he'll still have BU on his sweater.

Can someone please explain this one to me? So Alexx would need to sit out a season anyway, right? So it makes sense that he would play a season in the USHL, like Vinny did. But why is Jarrid playing another year? Did he not have any other D-1 offers? He hasn't committed anywhere else yet has he? I guess he feels he's not ready. Very strange turn of events with these guys.

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

Can you say package deal? These two want to play together. Jarrid is waiting until both get an offer at same school is my best guess.

Jarrid is also not a lock to make the 4th line of most top tier schools, while Alexx would be a top 4 D wherever he goes. Jarrid might need Alexx to get an offer himself (Derek Roy situation).

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

Potential to be a top 4 guy, provided he gets his anger issues under control.

Even with his 2 career major penalties (1 was stupid but not malicious, the other one of the most obvious examples of a player losing his temper on the ice I've ever seen) and 1.05 penalties per game you'd be hard pressed to find a team with 4 D better than him.

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

I know everyone is stunned by the news about Cory Monteith, but surely there is something BU related to discuss....

How about next season's most improved predictions. I'll go with Kurker, as he has set himself up nicely for that award :D

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

I agree on Kurker. He seemed to be getting up to speed in the 2nd half.

I think we'll know early on in the season whether Kurker will be a real good D1 player, or merely loose laundry.
