Did anybody else get the e-mail about no food or drinks between periods in the Friends Lounge due to compliance with NCAA policies? Exactly what reason is there to go down to that place anymore if this is going into effect?

Also, why is this such a "NCAA compliance" concern if it has been in operation 10 years now?

What is the difference between serving drinks in the Friends Lounge and the Premium Seat Lounge?

Based on the email it will be "enhanced" after this season. So 8 seasons of cookies and chex mix, 1 season where they kicked everyone to the club room, 1 season where you are welcome to come to sit on chairs, and season 11 it will be something else.

Or in the general consessions?

that is where the kids go after the games to meet up with their parents (remember this is why we were forbidden to go after games last year and sent to the club room). if there is food (FREE) there couldn't you see a mainer reporting us on our kids getting free puddin' :D

But the drink cart wasn't free, it charged normal concession prices. Removing that can't be an NCAA issue, BU must be doing it for a different reason (maybe it lost money?).

why sell drinks if there is no food to go with?!? i dunno.... f' ing guessing here :)

what i'm more worried about was the claim in #2 that nobody cares about the benefits they receive. does that mean that foh will no longer be invited to the club room? we can go back to the friends room which will supply nothing?!!? since it appears nobody wants anything

BU just got a commit from an "00" birth year.

Good Lord, I'm getting old. :(

00 F Jake Wise (Central Catholic) commits to Boston University. Huge get. Elite local prospect with high-end offensive tools and compete.

USHR's write-up on Wise {"The Next One"] from April 2013. There have been reports that BU also has strong interest in TJ Walsh, mentioned in the same article and now at Shattuck.

I actually watched this last night. I liked the way it was put together, it was a good production. Didn't come away all that impressed with Quinn. I felt like I was watching a BU version of Enrico Blasi.

I don't blame Quinn for last season given the players he inherited. Recruiting fell off a cliff after he left and as the Patriots are finding out with their offensive line, no amount of coaching can overcome a lack of talent. Short of benching the team and suiting up myself, Dave, Chuck and Brian, I don't think anything would have helped....

Whatever else happens this coming season, by April we'll know whether DQ can coach.

I don't want him fired, but he should get a slice of the "blame pie" for last year.
