BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Lowell is not a final destination job. Bazin won't likely bail for CC, but he will certainly go to the Nhl is he continues his success

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Stunned they didn't give Tommy Kelley a game disqualification for that spear! It was only a Spear and Misconduct
I thought spearing was an automatic 1 game DQ.

Hopefully Ahti Oksanen will be ok.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I have a hard time seeing him leave for CC. If the NHL comes calling, head coach that is (a push) 0% chance he stays.

No arguments if it's an NHL job. I should amend my statement to "0% chance Bazin leaves for another college job".

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Never say never. If a plum NCAA job like a Minnesota or BC were to call on him, he would be gone. Likelihood is the NHL eventually but that can be said for any coach today excluding Berenson, York or Jackson

Good question!

DQ stood in the club room and told donors that this was not a rebuilding situation. Pieces were in place and the pipeline was full.

I like this response better he's owning it. The "confluence of events " explanation is a cop out .

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I really have to admit I thought Quinn would have the same and immediate impact on BU that Bazin has had on UML and Leaman had on PC. My bad. Who's going to dress for next weekend's sweep? I've been watching since my freshman year in 1992 and have never really seen anything quite like this. Since 2009, when they won everything, they have been struggling. Although the mini-run they had at the end of last season left this fan feeling excited about this year. Now I'm 50-50 if I leave my season tickets on the sheet.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

i have to say, some of you might be delusional. as an example, someone thought bu would end the streak last night and win at lowell. why? why should this not so talented, injury depleted team beat any good team?

recruiting seems to be going well (not that that's ever really been an issue). just lost two competitve (scorewise) games on the road against good teams. certainly better than losing to bentley and dartmouth.

there have also been examples of coaches rebounding from horrible first years. cronin at NU and dennehy at merrimack come to mind. look at their records in year one.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I have to say, that i am really enjoying this. Although a BU win would have been nice for NU.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Dude
The day I sit back and compare bu hockey to nu or mc is the day Mookie sticks to being only a friend of women's golf!

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

that's fine. but you can't look at this bu lineup and say they should be a good team just because it's bu. feel like we've had this conversation before ;)

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Well, at least we won't miss the Hockey East playoffs...and conditioning should be top notch by the time we get there.

Depth is a problem but they still have vets from March team that beat BC. They can win games if they start gelling together as a unit

...and if mookie's aunt had a sack he'd call her 'uncle'

Didn't some these guys played well last season and you have some decent frosh ?

Well the good news is now that playing BU hurts you either way. You win your PWR rank drops, you lose and it really drops.
