So, who blows out a knee during this farce? O'Regan or Baller?

I'm not there to watch but at what point do we all stop smiling with this outdoor hockey, back to our childhood, grass roots, winter wonderland crap where everyone says it was a wonderful experience when in reality it was too cold, warm, rainy , whatever? People have been putting a happy face on this nonsense for years now, when in reality, there's very little to enjoy.

I get the winter classic thing but when someone gets hurt playing in slush for marketing purposes then what ?

Call it off and play at agganis tomorrow

Or even hell, play it at Fenway tomorrow if they're that deadset on it, low 40s and no precipitation. This is ridiculous. O'Regan just said on NESN that skill won't be a factor in this game with the conditions.

So even at a minimum the skill gets taken out of the game

I'm sitting up in the State St Pavillion under cover and looking at few inches of water on the ice. Not sure if they'll get the rest of this game in.

It's 1970s throwback day, didn't you know?

I'm snug and dry a long way from home. I go to 1510 on Wunderadio, and instead of getting Bernie and Tom, it's Terrier basketball. Probably a result of rescheduling, but it sums up a bad day in a sad season.

Agreed 100%. But, I think watching this is hysterical. Based on what I'm hearing, there is NO intent to even consider rethinking this concept. Tom Caron interviews a guy from Canada (Shore) - I wonder if this was prepared in advance - and gets the guy to say (and I paraphrase) "Well, in Canada when it rained we fell through the ice, but here there's no chance of that, so it will be surreal." Then Caron says there's only "fog" when you can clearly see the water on the ice, on the glass and on the camera lens. What a joke. These morons get what they deserve. Is there no end to what people will do for the almighty dollar? Although, in this case they may have outsmarted themselves, because there's nobody there and I don't think the advance sale was too great, either. Bottom line is, they'll just consider this an "aberration" and do it again next year. Until the leagues and/or teams say "ENOUGH," this will go on indefinitely. Everyone knows that there's always an appetite from SOME segment of the population for this stuff. A friend of my sister's (college roommate) came up from NORTH CAROLINA to go to this game. Gimme a break...
