Matt's speed was the difference against the Ottawa defense last night. NHL Overtime on Versus showed him just blowing by the D on his goal, and then on one of his assists, the D was chasing him, he circled behind the net and fired a pass into the slot for an easy goal (can't remember who had it).
Bemidji State got mentioned A LOT in the Philly segment last night!

I know it is early, but I headed over to NHL.com to see how Matt Read is stacking up with the rookies of the league.
Matt is tied for first in points at 6.
Matt is tied for third in goals with 2.
Matt is in first with 4 assists.

Awful play by the Bemidji D men tonight. Walsh didnt stand much of a chance, waaaaay too many turnovers in the duluth zone.

Looks like Matt Read will be out the next two games for the Flyers with an upper body injury. Too bad as the Flyers are on Versus tomorrow night at Buffalo.
