Brown University Bears 2011-12

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

Coady had a pretty bad reputation during his playing days at UNH. He was often involved in rage-filled rants and assaults on other players. He was unable to control his temper and that followed him into his coaching career, which is why he has not been able to obtain and maintain steady employment. Other than that, he has quite the resume.

Hmmm....So you knew Sean from his playing days....Well let me tell you, that I've spoken to Sean many a times and have also spoken to several of his former team mates. He is a standup and loyal person who will do anything for his team mates or his family. Sure he is rough around the edges, but both his heart and his philosophy are in the right place......He was even the coach of a current head coach in womens D1.....He had at least three five year stints as a director of scouting with three different NHL teams. In that business it is pretty common for people to move around....When you talk hockey with him you know he has a great nose for talent, and IMHO he has done a marvelous job recruiting some good talent onto a struggling team that many prospective recruits won't consider as an option......As some people may know, his family is going though a very difficult time with health issues and as far as I'm concerned he and his family should get all the support they need at this time....So Sean if you read this, good luck over the next few months, and the thoughts of many in the hockey world are with you and your family....God Bless....OnMAA

Sounds like harrassment or hazing....better not tell the folks at Bowdoin or they'll be asking Brown to "do the right thing" and return their last place trophy.... Doooh!!

What last place trophy ?.......Check your facts before mouthing off about something, Brown did not finish last.

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

Real nice words OnMAA.....yes Sean and I go way back....man o'man the stories....unfortunately it seems that bad things always happen to the best people...all Sean has to do is ask and he'll get all we can do for him and the family but aside from all the kind things you mentioned, you forgot stubborn.....Nuts Commander!

JK there Dudly.Do.Wrong...[but maybe you can tell me how many games they've won over the past 4 years?...if you can count that high...the good news is you probably won't have to take your shoes off to do the addition, Einstein]. I guess in your view, the team is a real powerhouse?

Wrong again. Need to take my shoes off. Don't even have to go back four years. Maybe you should "CrossCheck" your facts. :D

OK genius...keep your shoes on. Truly, a record to be proud of...Yes, you avoided last place with that ONE conference win [barely]. And if it were not for Union, you would have been in LAST Place [and p.s. Union BEAT you last year so honestly, IMO you were in last place]....

Here are the stats, right off the uscho website.

2010-11 ECAC I 2 23 4 .138
2009-10 ECAC I 3 21 4 .179
2008-09 ECAC I 7 21 1 .259
2007-08 ECAC I 5 19 5 .259

WoW!! VERY IMPRESSIVE INDEED!! Definately going in the right direction, and a record everyone associated with the program should be proud of. Keep your shoes on though...with a record like that, it could get pretty smelly around your house.

Look, you are the one that came on this thread insinuating there was hazing and harassment at Brown and then suggested they return their last place trophy. I took issue with both of those false/presumptuous statements.

I never suggested that Brown was a powerhouse, or that they should be proud of their record, that is you putting words in other posters mouths. If they in your opinion finished last, then that is your opinion, but not a reflection of the factual records in the books.

Everyone involved with the program at Brown would like to see their program to improve, whether it be the coaches, parents or players. If you have something to offer in a constructive manner for improvements, by all means, I'm open for discussion, but otherwise I'm ending this useless debate with a poster like you if all you do is make false insinuations and putting words in mouths of others.

I'm well connected with the parents of one of their recruits, and it is an excuse to have a chat with DC, so you never know.

I'm thinking it's an excuse to catch up on some of the local WHOOPIE PIES!!! (but that's another thread, altogether!)

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

Whoopie Pie indeed.

p.s. Maaa If you can't take the heat, get your last place team out of the kitchen...Nevertheless, I actually hope they get a new coach and turn things around. I know a few of their new players and they have the potential to be good.

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

I'm hearing that a new coach has been hired and she is a good one with excellent connections. ;)

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

Digit Murphy is no longer going to be coaching the Brown Women's Ice Hockey Team. Thank the Lord :D They have hired someone new... it rhymes with Shmoady Shmackena.

That is hysterical! Just the way you announced it! Good laugh for the morning.

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

Yeah, it is good to move on, but the same naysayers will be naysaying when they find out that Miss McKenna isn't going to put up with the tomfoolery anymore than Coach Murphy did. Ya wanna play D1, then prepare for it, and act like D1 players.

I wonder if it is possible to tone down the rhetoric and simply wish the team and all involved the very best? I certainly hope so.

Re: Brown University Bears 2011-12

yes, less tomfoolary. less nets in the puck, and more pucks in the net. probably that's a good start. [and less digits in the mix too]
