Sunday Oct 24

Sunday Oct 24

The weather has already turned cold, snow in the Adirondack hills, perfect to get into the hockey spirit.

The Brown squad is preparing for their season opener away against Boston College this coming Sunday.

Just want to wish the players and coaching staff all the best for this Sunday's game.

Sorry everyone, I've been out of town. Anyone get the score of last weekend's game with BC? Looking forward to another great season and chatting with you all.

Wow - I'm gonna be the one to guess that you were out of town getting a personality transplant? Lovin' the accentuation on the positive:)

So, let's get back to my question. Did they win or did they lose against BC? Oh ya, how'd that team do over the Summer, btw - that under 21 national team that Digit coached? Did they win? Thanks. Love you guys.

That's 22, you forgot one Digit. Catch 22? :)

All things positive Brown

All things positive Brown

Folks Please. The intent of this thread was all things positive for Brown. The players of the team deserve this support. Everyone interested in Brown surely knows all the results. They are posted on the Brown website.

If you like to start a sniping session do it in those old Brown threads from yesteryear, or create your own.

While last weekend was not a great outcome for the team, its time to look ahead to next weekend. Good luck to the team this weekend at Dartmouth and Harvard.

Go Brown Bears Go.

Give it up. Your kid couldn't cut the D1 mustard. No big deal, only a select few can. So let it go.

The ECAC season gets underway this weekend

The ECAC season gets underway this weekend

The ECAC season gets underway this weekend. The Brown Bears will be traveling up to Hanover for a stint against the Big Green during the latter's homecoming weekend. The next day they will face the Crimson at the Bright.

Building/rebuilding comes with many ups and downs, trials and tribulations. The Brown team is no exception. This years edition of the Brown bears is a young team with a lot of promise for the future. The veterans on the team play a key role to keep this young team on an even keel with a positive attitude.

The signs early in the year are promising. A good weekend folowed by a hard loss in the second weekend is an example of those trials and tribulations alluded to earlier.

This coming weekend brings two more opportunities on the rebuilding road. This is the first real road trip for the Bears. Both games are against long time rivals and Ivy league opponents on their home turf. The Bears are clear underdogs in both games, but therein lies an opportunity. Looking forward to two exciting games this weekend.

Go Bears Go.

Is this directed at Hux? If so, then I concur. Let's not act like we have relationships with each other.

BTW67. Thanks for the comments.

The game tonight was a clear sign that the Brown squad is heading in the right direction. They played a lot better than the game last weekend. While it did not result in a win, there were still lots of positives to look at. All of the first and second year players are getting lots of ice time, often in key situations. A pair of rookies combined for a great pass-play-and-finish goal, the nicest goal scored on the night. Twice Brown battled back from deficits to tie the game, and when the score was tied they did have several chances to take the lead. In the end the difference in the game was the special teams. Dartmouth scored 2 goals on 6 attempts, while Brown was 0-3 on the PP.

This young team shows a never give up fighting spirit. That will sooner or later translate into wins and more success. For the second game in a row, the other team scores an early goal on a funny deflection of a Brown defense player. It was actually the same player that fell victim to this two games in a row. This Rookie D player embodies the fighting spirit of this Brown squad, as she would go on to play a great game for the second game in a row. The coaches gave her an opportunity to play, and play she did. That is the new Brown.

As I wrote earlier, building a program takes lots of trials and tribulations. Brown is on the way back. It will take some time, but the team will get there. Remember that even in winning, the important thing to remember, and the achievement to celebrate, is the path that took you there.

Go Bears.
