Re: brits

While living there, the classism is what I found most shocking

That's always been the knock on the English, yeah. In the US racism is a very special evil and it is mainly limited to the dumbsh-ts like Republicans. My impression of English classism is it permeates every level, like homophobia here (or at least here up through the 80s).

It permeates every level in the US, too. When's the last time you saw a Manhattan garbage worker and a spoiled Harvard-to-Wall Street stiff hanging out at the same bar and trying to impress the same woman?

That’s true, but I felt like it was on a different scale there. The new money vs old money is big too. Kate Middleton was vilified for her parents being new money

One of the aristocrats lost a case where a child was born of surrogate and can’t inherit anything since it wasn’t born “of the body.” So antiquated.

That isn't classism, that's Elective Affinities.

I want to give the Poors equal opportunity. I don't want to hang out with them. They're boring and irritating and dangerous to me and I'm boring and irritating and effete to them.

Classism goes way beyond that to lack of respect. I recognize the Poors are my equals. Republicans are my equals too. It doesn't mean I want inflict myself on them or vice versa. It doesn't mean we have to wuv each other.

But the English actually think the classes have a worth hierarchy, and that is utterly obscene.

Re: brits

From my experiences (this is now my 3rd different residence abroad) people will find ways to distance themselves from others and the underlying reasoning is no more or less virtuous anywhere.

In England it was the poors, in Bahrain it was Pakis/Indians etc., in Thailand the Chinese, here it's those that refuse to assimilate. It goes deeper but I've never experienced racism like I have outside the US and that includes South America, Europe, SE Asia and Africa. And that's not been towards me but others.

Euro trash have an unhealthy snobbery toward Americans and I've ever experienced it on any other continent.

No one is perfect and I've never once felt one society in which I've become immersed is on the whole in position to put themselves on a pedestal of virtuosity.

Also there are multiple ways in which people can be awful. Filipinos aren't on the while racist but they have other ways in which they lack humility and/or at the very least self-awareness.

I won't extend this olive branch to Wisconsinites as they're irredeemable but you get the picture.

Re: brits

There’s a blog called Skippy. She posts pandas and animals and vitriol against Meghan. Thinks Harry was blackmailed, is playing a part and Meghan has globalist backers of Clinton’s, Obama’s, Soros, etc amd was paid to infiltrate the royal family to bust it up. And I’m not joking

Hillary was supposed to execute Order 1776, before Trump ruined everything and won.

Good Will Hunting.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt :)

PBR me ASAP!

I almost wish they'd gone with more "Al and Peg" look from "Married With Children" but that work is solid.

Should have been Molson.

I dunno about Canada but in that picture Harry looks like every guy from Revere.

I can't tell if Meghan is hot or the Saxe-Coburgs are just incredibly ugly.

Re: brits

They always put her in pencil skirts on "Suits" and it just didn't work for me.

Pencil skirts are the de-sexualized uniform of modern office women. They're the equivalent of the dumpy clothes undergrads wear. It's all part of the war on femine beauty by academics and businesswomen who lack it.
