It's not, but have you noticed that many widowers either get remarried or die soon (1 yr or so) after the wife dies?

and if hollywood was ever looking to cast a widower to do such a thing... this is your guy! :D

We need someone to cook, clean and dole out the meds!

How true! When the wife dies often times the husband's life just falls apart and he follows her soon after. When the husband dies, many times the wife grieves for a short spell and then heads out to dinner with her other female friends and carries on like the merry widow. Seen it over and over again. Women deal with this a whole lot better. Just my 2¢

I'm surprised my FIL is still alive, MIL went to cancer and botched treatment about 11 years ago and I (and my wife) thought he'd go too in a couple years. Mid 80s now.

Makes sense. Men start out pragmatic and become romantic. Women start out romantic and become pragmatic.
