"Surely you haven't come to negotiate, Mr. Bond. Your pitiful little island hasn't even been threatened."

Why is this a problem for May?

Because half her party considers having to take part in the elections an act of treason. At this point her personal reputation will never be redeemed. It is all about saving her party now. Not her, not the country; her party.

Seems like the world over the right has been exposed in democratic countries as being about themselves and not the greater good.

Considering what they stand for it is hardly surprising.

It's funny that the right criticizes the left's cosmopolitanism as "putting global values ahead of patriotism," when what they themselves do is put their own naked class self-interest ahead of patriotism. Countries don't mean anything to conservatives anymore except convenient containers of saps to murder in wars to enlarge their portfolios.

Maybe the EU will impose sanctions and obliterate England's economy.

I wonder if the Anglosphere could give it a go as a protectionist global economic union? I'm not saying we should -- I have far more respect and affection for Western Europe than Australia (or, for that matter, Texas). But could we? How does the combined GDP of the English-speaking world compare to say the combination of the German, French, Italian and Spanish?

An answer:
Code:
.206 English
.200 "Chinese" (Mandarin?)
.186 Western Europe (German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Dutch)

The UK Government and NHS have been stockpiling the drugs they can for a few weeks in the event of a no-deal Brexit with the EU. Where are the drugs being stockpiled? Belgium. Which is in the EU. ****ing brilliant. How will the drugs make the journey from the EU to the UK? Special ferries between Ostend, Belgium and Ramsgate in Kent. The ferries Transport Secretary Chris Grayling arranged with Seaborne Freight. A company with no ferries and no experience with shipping. The contract which was canceled after it was made public. The contract which hasn't been replaced.

Solid plan. In the event of a no-deal Brexit, needed medication will somehow travel from the EU to the UK on non-existent boats.

Wow. If it didn’t inflict such damage on the world’s economy, I would be so in favor of just telling the brits to f-ck off. And I know the EU is in the same boat.

Wow. As someone who used to work for the NHS...I am not surprised

if liberty university can supply jet fuel to the pentagon, nhs will be able to get their drugs ;)

Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

I had in all honesty forgotten about the UK's existence since last week.

Maybe it won't matter at all. As I recall, Belgium went into anarchy for about 2 years and nobody noticed. They had an empire once, too.

They already took their shot and missed. They can try again in December.

The last time May went to Berlin to see Merkel she got stuck in her car. Today when she arrived there was no one to meet her so May had to walk in alone. Europe is ready to turn the UK into Airstrip One.
