I think I hurt myself.

The one guy who could possibly make it work has been lying in a churchyard in Bladon for 54 years.

Disagree. Winnie was a great wartime PM but an atrocious failure as a peacetime PM. His brand of bombastic biliousness has its place for morale, but it's useless for strategic planning. Just ask the Australians.

I’m not sure I want a global recession potentially being triggered.

That’s how the rich get really richer.

Complete economic collapse is one of the few ways to scuff the rich's shoes but the global innocent human suffering isn't worth it.

The Bolshies had the right idea, but that sort of thing tends to get out of hand.

What we really need is for net assets to work like cumulative radiation.

Nah, when the Great Recession hit, the rich saw $$$ written all over. Properties that were privately owned were forced to be sold at depressed prices and the rich gobbled them up. Those almost immediately recovered (like 3-5 years) and the rich made out like bandits.

When the poor and middle class get squeezed hard, they sometimes have to jettison things just to stay afloat. When the market is flooded with that, it crushes prices. Then the economy recovers and the rich sell those things back to the middle class at a huge premium.

The rich can always afford to wait things out. They also have stores of wealth they can dump into the various marketplaces when the time is right.
No one else can.

Ouch!

There's already one on the horizon.

With the rise of the amount of Hate Groups across Europe (amongst other places) if No Deal Brexit happens and it triggers the economic collapse many are predicting it will be the 1920s-30s all over again.

Precisely. Once the jobs disappear, that's when people get desperate and will do anything to survive, including voting for autocrats.

My grandfather got to fight Nazis, I guess it's only fair to let his great grandson have a turn. Of course, under the current administration we'd be siding with the Nazis, so...

The rise of support of Hitler in the UK was due to the ruling class's abject fear of the Red Menace.

And Kep - wholesale murder of a family by a bunch of drunken thugs is never a good idea.

Shoot the Czar? Ok/maybe. But then send the rest of the family into exile like the Austrians did with the Habsburgs.

I'm (fairly) obviously kidding about blowing away the Czar's kids. The fitting thing to do would have been to just mix them in with the Poors and let them enjoy the life their glorious dynasty had bequeathed other Russians.

This is what we should do with the roe of our own rich. Assign their kids to random parents. Because, I mean, the rich really strengthen our country and contribute so much to the good of each person, clearly the life of a typical peasant is so much easier than the heavy head that wears the crown, eh?

It is interesting, though, how the right becomes intoxicated with fury over the deaths of a handful of rich kids here and there, while they stay so oddly silent about the millions of children who suffer because of inequality. Because, hey, that's just God's will, right?

Murder is wrong. Whether you do it by a gun or the "free market."

More likely its the Russians, via right wing parties, fueling chaos in Europe, breaking up the EU, and swooping in when everything has gone to total s-.

Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

Interesting that Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg - who said this deal was worse than no-deal - could change their minds and vote for it but allowing the public to vote again would be the end of the world.

Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

They’re conservatives. Therefore morons or evil or both. Pick and choose.
