Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Baseball Tonight went to commercial with a montage. 100% Cardinals while talking about how Pujols and Holliday were now evened up in the series. Not sure if the Brewers were mentioned by name.

Oh ESPN...

There is no logic with BBTN. They'll let no opportunity to denigrate the Brewers or Milwaukee pass them by.

If you want to see Brewers cheerleading, watch MLB Network (I prefer watching them anyway - I really like Harold Reynolds) - Dan Plesac is nuts. It's kind of fun to see our former players excited for the current team, though.

Betancourt and Hairston have been fantastic in the playoffs. Did not expect that.

Think Roenicke messes with the rotation if the Brewers lose tonight? Marcum is in line to start Game 6.

Did anyone win the World Series lottery? All nos here.

MLB network would cost me extra. I did not even receive any emails alerting me to enter a World Series lottery, which is strange because I've gotten previous emails about the NLCS lottery and the extra tickets available for the DS and CS. When we make it to the WS, if anyone receives an email about available tickets, please let me know. :)

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I was told I was not selected for WS tix, but they're doing a second chance lottery for the leftovers.

I didn't win any of the rounds, but did get the second chance e-mails.

I would like to know why the same people got the second chance emails both times. My mom got both of those as well. I haven't gotten any of them. You cannot possibly tell me that was really a lottery when everyone that I know that got one - got both. :p

Everyone that you know is pretty anecdotal evidence. :p

Considering the large number of people that probably entered the lottery, I would think winning a round more than ONCE would be quite unusual, for anyone - so it happening multiple times in the small pool of people I know is very, very, very strange. Although I guess I shouldn't complain too much, because I got tickets in both those rounds anyway, even though I didn't actually win. :)

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I signed up myself and every family member I could think of for all 3 rounds and won the lottery for the NLDS only. I never received any second chance ticket notification. I did take advantage of the one icebadger posted though for the NLCS.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I only signed up for the NLDS ticket lottery, and they keep re-using my entry for the NLCS and WS lotteries.

Here's the e-mails I've received:

That's the first thing I did when the NLDS second chance email came out - no email. I'm with SG - everyone in my family entered, one person won the NLDS lottery, and my mom is the only one that got the second chance emails (both of them). Nobody else did. I assumed the second chance thing was a lottery, but maybe it's not - maybe they just had a snafu and didn't get the email to everyone. Or they only wanted to thank certain people for registering. Repeatedly. :p I did get an email for each round saying I wasn't chosen, so it's not like my registration got lost.

I entered NLCS and NLDS lotteries separately, didn't win either, and got second-chance ticket emails for both series. I've gotten nothing so far about the WS, nothing about entering, losing the lottery, or second-chance tickets (though it's a bit early for that last one).

On an actual baseball note, who gets the start in CF tonight? Garcia's going for the Cards, so do we see a Gomez start tonight or does Corey get another shot?

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I was reminded of ESPN's <a href="http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/16879/100-reasons-to-be-excited-about-playoffs">100 reasons to watch the MLB Playoffs</a> from earlier -

64. Doug Fister. Did I really go this long with mentioning him? He's allowed five walks in 70 innings since joining the Tigers. He has a 0.65 ERA over his last 55 innings. He could be a super-secret difference-maker this October.

65. Yuniesky Betancourt. Or it could be Yuniesky Betancourt. Hey, you never know.

66. Mariners and Royals fans watching in stunned disbelief as Yuniesky Betancourt plays in the postseason,

...

69. "M-V-P" chants from hometown fans for Granderson, Cano, Braun, Fielder, Pujols, Young, Upton and Yuniesky Betancourt.

:D You never know, indeed.

Haven't seen anything, but I'd bet on Gomez and hope for Kotsay instead of Hart. Not sure how long Roenicke is willing to sit Hart, though. Maybe he just wanted him to rest for one game to hopefully snap out of his funk. But I hope we never see both Kotsay and Hart starting again.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Icebadger, I'm going to guess it is the two righties Gomez and Hart against the LHP. They got to Garcia pretty good with those guys in the lineup on Sunday. What will be interesting is what he does with the order. I'm not sure I trust Gomez at the top of the order and Hart in the leadoff isn't looking good right now but I'm guess they ultimately go Hart and Hairston the top 2 and then Gomez slides in 7th between Yuni and Lucroy.

The rotation is an interesting question for game 6 and possibly 7. Tonight's result obviously decides if game 6 is an elimination game or a clincher so that cuts down the possiblities and then I'll probably make a call on what I think from there.

At this point, I'd take Counsell over Weeks. At least Counsell makes contact most of the time.

All aboard the Marcum train for a must-win game 6! Who's with me? ;)
