Bottom Feeders 2017-18

Re: Bottom Feeders 2017-18

Almost assuredly going to the championship. Only AHC team we have a historical losing record against.

I can only go with what the carrier pigeons and smoke signals tell me. And never tell me "assuredly," because it appeared UAA was a lock to go all the way.

Re: Bottom Feeders 2017-18

names reported in the news or on the sweaters would only confuse things, what with teams scoring for the other team. maybe next year they could all wear grey uniforms.

once again, I protest the Ouray choice. its a slippery slope. Bryanhead, the Billings, where will it stop? some glitzy rink with lighting, concession stands, skating referees, instead of those idiots who call the game from the stands, announcers, who knows what's next? next thing some #29 team is going to demand to put in the tournament.

We probably need to consider revisiting some previous venues, especially in the Midwest and Northeast. I'm sure Calumet/George Gipp would love to bid again, especially with Tech being preoccupied with that other tournament as of late.

We handled Ouray well. Everyone was in tents, we served a disgusting pregame meal, the weather was most foul.

If huskyfan wants to file a formal complaint, there is a slot in my office to the right of the printer. (on the other side is a paper shredder)

East regional final:

Sparty and Miami. Two teams the commissioner wishes she could crown champion right now. Pigeon Cletus brought back some news for me. Miami was more concerned with "writing their name in the snow" than playing with the one puck at drop. Sparty skates around the yellow snow and scores a quick one. As the yellow snow goes on. Miami trips Sparty with a stick from the bench. Wait, how did Rico come with extra sticks? I thought we prevented that. Anyway, Sunny Anderson's pregame meal comes back to bite everyone as Miami's goalie was seen puking behind the net. Miami scores as everyone was focused on that. Couldn't settle it in regulation. In the overtime, as time passed and a blizzard ensued, Sparty attempted to clear the puck, only to have it go straight to a Miami player. Couldn't resist an opportunity to score. Miami wins 2-1 in OT, so Sparty wins the East and eagerly awaits the winner of the ASU/Western tilt.

Midwest regional final out of Bad Axe:

Arizona State and Western Michigan. The teams were "fed" by Jeff Mauro, so a sandwich that was mostly mayonnaise. As Pigeon Judy Bailey (I hated her) comes back, I open her notes and see what she has to say. Once again, Arizona State came ready for a fight (did they want to advance?). Western came ready to fight too, and at puck drop, both teams squared off. As the melee unfolded in front of them, Arizona State's and Western's goalie decided to trade their goalie sticks for regular sticks and play one on one. Western's goalie scored first after shoving the ASU tender. 10 minutes to play in the first, and ASU answers. The fight is still going on until someone decides to call it off. As Western is picking up their sticks and scrambling to get into position, ASU sees an opportunity and pots another one. Western answers 3 minutes into the second. Tied at 2 with less than a minute to play in the third, a Western center is tripped at mid ice, no one sees it, and ASU marches right up and scores. That's how it ends. It will be a former CCHA dance off, as Sparty plays Western in the other half of the Futile Four.

The Futile Four is set:

2 Niagara vs. 1 RPI
1 Michigan State vs 4 Western Michigan

After a less than profitable series and tomato stains all over the mountain from uncontrollable vomiting, the Mount Washington Conservatory will likely decline the opportunity to host next year in favor of the Harlem Globetrotters on Ice regional tour. They figure having two in attendance is better than one and an angry cat.

The numbers from Elba are in. 2 in attendance, backed up bathrooms, and a mess of MD 20/20.

From Bad Axe: 0 in attendance. A huge fight that the local DA wants to prosecute.

From Ouray: 0 in attendance, a mess of Knockwurst Nightmare, and the cost of rounding up the Mystery Sack of Meat (Every Sack A Surprise)!

Re: Bottom Feeders 2017-18

Sounds like organizers in Elba really screwed up with regard to attendance.

Re: Bottom Feeders 2017-18

We are going to broadcast the Futile Four on public access TV at 3 AM ET.

Remember when Pinky and the Brain tried to do War of the Worlds on TV? It'll be like that.
