Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

Re: Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

wow... assume much?
Did I ever say I went to UMaine?

and to brag about paying only $32,000 for a $50,000 community college education, yet again boggles the minds of any Mainer who grew up knowing the value of a dollar.

and once again, Kudos to BU's marketing geniuses who figured out ways to extract that kind of cash.

Your reading skills suggest that it is you who are the one with the community college education.

Did you ever say you went to Maine? No... did I ever say you said you went to Maine? Nope... way to tell someone they're making assumptions and then put words in their mouth!

And then somehow out of nowhere you choose the figure 32000 for how much I'm paying for my education! Bravo!

You're not worth having this argument with. You seem set enough on the fact (sorry, poorly misguided opinion) that Boston University represents a "community college education" that nothing is going to convince you otherwise.

I'm also not really sure you know what a community college is... please tell me you mean state/public college or something. Because at the very least BU is a four year university and hence nothing like a community college.

When did Nyquist become a Junior? Did I have that much to drink last night? They have him listed as a junior on the top 10 Hobey candidate list.

Re: Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

BU is comprised of another 17 colleges/programs, nearly all of which are considered leaders in their fields.
.

Which of those fine colleges/programs was little Bourque in anyway?

Re: Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

Can't we just argue about ineligible players, ratting schools out to the NCAA and stuff like that?

A bunch of college graduates arguing like a bunch of grade schoolers about who be smarter is like a fly in your chardonnay.:D

Re: Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

Despite the bad blood out here, I'm actually going to speak out in favor of the state of Maine.

Really, where else in the US can you pay for whatever you want with Monopoly money, and have the idiot locals believe you when you say "the darn gubmint changed up the currency again". I even got a thank you card from the UMaine boosters for my donation of my hotel on Park Ave to their club. :D

Yeah, its definitely a poor testament for BU that Bourque found the academics too difficult to keep up (see also, Tom Poti) and, rather than the admin. bending the rules, he instead left BU.

Compare with Ingraham, Cal and Tory, Jeff.

Boo Maine. How's that?

Next you're going to say something mean about my mother.*yawn*

Hey, I'm from Indiana. I've got leeway to heckle anybody from anywhere. :p

Yeah, and like there's no psycho chicks at BU.

You have to figure in the dollar benefit of having all those crazy women to frolic around with.

Shawn finished with 34 goals
Wish it was 35. :(

Was it a McEachern shot that hit both posts in overtime vs. NMU and got gloved right on top of the goal line? I still don't know how that didn't go in . . .

One day, I'm going to watch a tape of that game and that puck will go in. *sigh*

Not sure I would call it "too difficult." He didn't even bother trying at all.

Re: Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

anyone know if these games sell out? Would I be able to pick up tickets at the box office the night of the game?

Re: Boston University vs Maine HEA Semifinals

Man!

I haven't been on in a week or so...and I somehow mustered the patience to catch up on the bickering!

Personally, when I log onto USCHO, I like to talk about hockey! Not petty, quasi-regional differences, even though at the end of the day, we're pretty much all Red Sox loving, blue states with an affinity for seafood and Sam Adams....and if you go anywhere else in the country, we'll all get grouped together and fall victim to New England stereotypes....hell, if it weren't for evening out electoral representation during the Civil War...we might still be the SAME state  but anyway! :p

Onto the game.

It should be a good one. I do, honestly think we're looking at another BC/BU matchup at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, Maine won't play poorly persay, and Wilson will have another respectable showing. I do think he lets in one early in the first, and they just have a hard time getting a handle on anything after. Dimmen probably won't play, and I think the team felt his absence, and the offensive spark he can provide.

BU is a team with players that know what important playoff games feel like at this level. Most of their players have played multiple games at the TD Garden before, and compared to a Maine team with no one significant on the roster having played in front of a crowd that large, or in that arena....I just think BU is apt to feel more cool and comfortable while Maine's young guns will be over anxious, and their offensive cold streak will continue.

Barring empty netters, I'll go 3-1 BU.

I believe Cal got a degree and Jeff actually passed classes, Did Bourque pass a class? I recall incompletes in the first semester and he quit after hockey season?

since you guys haven't been regular participants for a while, i am quite sure you can get ticket by just walking up to the ticket window and save almost $10 per ticket, imagine you can get into this for $19! great deal for an amazing event.........that was a compliment BTW. last year's turnout was pathetic with out Maine and or UNH
