Boston University vs Boston College 11/30 and 12/1

Re: Boston University vs Boston College 11/30 and 12/1

I read Parker's comments on Cisse last night and didn't see any "parting shots." If you ask me, Parker was pretty gracious considering.

BU was called for diving twice over the weekend, increasing its total of diving calls on the season to four. Escobedo has been called for a diving-related penalty twice, while junior defenseman Garrett Noonan and sophomore forward Evan Rodrigues were each whistled for embellishment once.

Have any of these guys sat the next game after their embellishment/diving penalties? Put your money where your mouth is Jack. Jack is truly senile. Accusing Jerry York of coaching kids to dive? Underscores all of the "praise" he bestowed on him last weekend. That must be why BC has dominated the college hockey world over the last 5 years, because Jerry coaches his players to cheat/dive. Funny, BU was called for more embellishment/diving penalties over the weekend. I guess that's another feather in Jerry's coaching hat, his players know how to dive without getting caught. They probably practice it. Parker can't help himself, he is a bitter, angry, sore loser, who can't stand the fact that there is a new sheriff in town. Jack forget about the diving situation and focus on winning something substantial. BU's been a one hit wonder, thanks for David Quinn, over the last 10 years, Jack needs to get on his boat and sail away.

BC also cheats at face offs

Today at 2:19 PM:

Jack Parker, while talking about last week's penalties vs. BC, named the two teams he considers frequent divers: BC and Maine.

The senile ****** never stops.

A couple parting shots for Cisse as well (shocker).

Parker continually saying his team doesn't dive because he doesn't coach them to reminds me of jack Nicholson in a few good men saying his marines don't disobey orders or people die.

Jack ordered the code red

Someone is taking things a little too personally. I don't understand what these BC kids have to be angry about. They win the tournament (HE and NCAA) like every other year, they're #2 in the country and yet Parker's comments still get them all riled up. Parker = Master troll.

It's just extremely unprofessional

It's just extremely unprofessional

So is wearing a cut off hoodie on the sidelines.

If he thinks it will help his team in the end I am fine with it, whether he believes what he is saying or not. If he ends up not seeing a benefit he should change approaches. If I was a coach I would I act differently, but there is a reason I pay BU to go to games, not the other way around.

Re: Boston University vs Boston College 11/30 and 12/1

What was unprofessional was realizing the criticism you voice is a direct slight on the referees. You are basically telling them they are too stupid to call what is allegedly obvious to everyone else. We all know that penalties are somewhat subjective.... So you would have to expect that if your guys now so much as slip and fall you are going to get called for said dive because you have *****ed and moaned to have it called. CONGRATULATIONS!

Falls under "be careful what you wish for, it may come true."

Jackie accusing Maine of diving? ***. Hell, we're all just a bunch of stiffs, how can we possibly dive? Has Jackie mentioned anywhere the goal lifting tricks his goalies have all been so accomplished at? :D:D:D

This accusation does make me chuckle. His teams historically have been adept at breaking the rules, aka holding quicker and faster forwards against the boards much longer than allowed. Cheatah I tell ya !!

I think he was referring to Maine diving to the bottom of the standings

Re: Boston University vs Boston College 11/30 and 12/1

This really has been a classic backfire for poor old Jack.

Honest question since I was so young in the pre-York era of BC/BU... was Jack always this much of a dope/whiner before York showed up? Or has he always thrown his kids under the bus and cried about other teams when anyone from the press is near him? Obviously Walshie had to drive him crazy. Did he whine constantly about Maine? (Did he turn in Walshie to the NCAA?).

Tough to argue that this man isn't a complete embarrassment with his mouth unless you've got your head in the sand. Personally I love it and hope he sticks around forever as he is enabling BC and York to outrecruit and outplay BU on the ice and it will continue until one of the two coaches leaves.

Media scrutiny is a lot higher now than it was 20 or 30 years ago for college hockey. I don't recall too many interview with Parker back in the day as the sport wasn't getting a ton of coverage except for the Beanpot and was rarely on TV.

Having said that, Parker is a throwback to a time where coaches had a more adversarial relationship with their players as opposed to all the coddling that goes on now. Its not a him personally thing, its the era he began coaching in (the 70's). A lot of coaches/GM's were like that (think Harry Sinden with the Bruins or even Bill Parcells) and there's very few of those guys left nowadays because we're more than three decades beyond that period.

So how do you explain Coach York?

Re: Boston University vs Boston College 11/30 and 12/1

There are many trustworthy Maine fans that will tell you that he did.

Oh sure he did. He even air mailed cookies up here to tempt the Maine players. So we made up masks of the evil man to wear at games. About that time, Jackie lost what little sanity remained. We can attest to it. Him and Jack Nicholson shared something, and it wasnt acting ability.

Re: Boston University vs Boston College 11/30 and 12/1

I haven't haven't seen a lot of hockey this year, but there are plenty of perfectly acceptable reasons to dislike BC. Diving isn't one of them. The fact that none of us can beat them and Jerry York seemingly has an endless supply of diminutive :"blue chippah" forwards is probably a more legitimate reason to hate BC.

And Maine's "cheating" seems to be about as successful as PC's "cheating" was when the board was overrun by SMT supporters 10 years ago.

How will this affect the team chemistry-wise?
I don’t think it has anything to do with the team. It’s not like, ‘How are we going to replace his goals?’ It has to do with we lost a good friend, we lost a roommate. He lived with three other guys on the team. He’s a real good guy. And he is a terrific kid. So all that and he was really well liked.

You know when someone asks you if a person is hot and all you can say is that they are really nice because you secretly think they are ugly? How many more ways can angry jack say this kid sucked?

Jerry York is probably the greatest college hockey coach of all time. Like a coach K in college hoops he's clearly in a league of his own and an exception to the rule. Instead of lauding past stiffs like Al Skinner or Jack Bicknell just because they coached higher profile sports and had a good year or two, BC ought to put a statue of York not in front of Conte forum but at the front gates of the campus. Not sure they'll ever see a coach like him in any of their sports again, as they haven't seen one as successful as him previously.
