McNelis and Vass in the portalThanks for setting this up, Scarlett! Yes, this will be a portal of high interest.

TY for info! Before we get to the Portal and the off-season, we need to acknowledge what we watched at the Frozen Four this weekend. (I would love to hear from Terrier fans who were there for their in-person takes. I observed from my couch.)
I have a lot to say, so brain dump upcoming.
And Denver is coming to Agganis in November. They're a far cry from this weekend.*
- The goalie (Hicks) My God. One of the most clutch goalie performances I've ever witnessed. The kid was supposed to go to TN State, then they pulled the plug on their program, he ends up at Denver and doesn't get a start until an injury felled their starter. Crazy-ass story
- David Carle and his staff owns the rest of D1 hockey
- If I were a WI fan I would have been THRILLED with their first two periods. (Would have wanted at least one more, but...) I mean come on. They dominated. Denver had 5 shots on goal thru 2 periods
- But, but, but... Denver won't have any legs in the third because they played a 2 OT game on Thursday. WRONG.
- Denver's compete level is unreal. They stick with their game and then when it matters most, kick it to another level.
- The tip goals! How many did the Pios have? Can anyone remember the last tip goal BU scored?
- The BU coaching staff should be studying Denver's FF game tapes like a conspiracy theorist studies the Zapruder film.
- Senior leadership
- Undrafted kids with something to prove
- The Denver-Michigan game was phenomenal. Again, look at those shot totals. Unreal
- The Michigan FF Semi-final curse is now a thing (And way back in 1997 BU was the spoiler.)
- 11/16/1990 - BU 9 - Denver 2
- 11/17/1990 - BU 12 - Denver 0
*The BU hockey page is missing this series (and other games vs. Denver.). - Be better, BU hockey page!
Was it Parker who said sometime the game should just be called “goalie”?Before we get to the Portal and the off-season, we need to acknowledge what we watched at the Frozen Four this weekend. I believe it means they don’t want to be recruited and prefer to control the process themselves…. Or it may mean they already know where they are going, and are just working out the details. What does "No Contact" mean on the Portal page?
The Gophers are already feasting hard.
It means that the athlete is requesting that no one contacts them. They have probably settled where they want to go.What does "No Contact" mean on the Portal page?

Yes it means there's been recruit "tampering" and they already know where they are going when the portal opened up.It means that the athlete is requesting that no one contacts them. They have probably settled where they want to go.
Not sure about those specific incidents but 95% of the time it’s because your original team thinks you need another year before coming and you want to play right away.If anyone knows to share…..
Why did will zellers decommit and head to Sioux?
Same question then on calum Hughes now going to Cornell??
They nailed it on Macklin Celebrini! Not sure about those specific incidents but 95% of the time it’s because your original team thinks you need another year before coming and you want to play right away.
I don’t think this BU staff is very good at determining which players are ready to play right away
If I asked this before and got an answer, my apologies. What happens to players that enter the portal and do not get selected by another team? Do they go back to their original team/ Can they go back to their original team?
I think it kinda was…Denver was changing very quickly, especially in the second period. So many times when it looked like an opportunity to attack Denver essentially had 2 guys in the play. What they weren’t getting were the “throw it at the goalie” shots often taken as part of a change or end of a shift. It seemed more like a soccer strategy of not worrying about possession but instead maintaining formation and causing the opponent to work much harder. Denver is too good to get “outplayed” 2:1…my assessment may be wrong but I think it was part of their plan. Was it Parker who said sometime the game should just be called “goalie”?
Full props to Denver but I’m not sure that getting outshot by a 2-1 margin in both frozen four games would be a part of anyone’s game plan?
Zellers’ parents both went to UND and he grew up a big fan. Going from MN to BU may have been a bigger leap than going to ND…although he was destined for Boston anyway. If anyone knows to share…..
