Boston University off-season thread (preparing for 16/17).

Chris Dyment no longer @TerrierHockey director of hockey ops. Talk in rinks over weekend is he's in market for college/junior coaching job.

Dyment resigned earlier this Summer. Was told decision was his as he wanted to get back into coaching.

BU recently hired a new Director of Hockey Ops. Look for official announcement soon.

Season tickets arrived today. I guess the season ticket card was only a one year test as I received regular paper tickets. Too bad, I enjoyed the card. I guess I'll go back to using my phone.

Mine arrived today.

What is the season ticket card? Mine were regular tickets just like every other year?

Last summer, BU sent out an email to some season ticket holders to beta test a season card in lieu of regular paper tickets. I agreed to give it a try. It was a basically like a plastic credit card, same size, with my name and seat location on the front and a barcode on the back to be scanned upon entrance to the arena. I found it to be very convenient. Never had to be concerned about bringing/losing/destroying paper tickets. I just kept it in my wallet and pulled it out once for each game. It's a cool little thing to keep also. I gave it very positive feedback.

I don't remember hearing Geragosian was leaving. I'm going miss chatting with him.

Per release from BU today, we've hired the first ever female to a full-time coaching staff position on a D1 Men's team.

Unless you are talking about ice hockey specifically, there have been other female coaches of men's division 1 teams… including right here at BU, our head track and field coach Robyne Johnson!

It is ice hockey specifically and it is not a coaching position. Director of Hockey Ops.

Yes, of course I was talking about at a D1 men's hockey program. Northeastern also has a woman who works for both the men's and women's program as well.

My best guess at lines... One question would be whether Carpenter would be better used at 3rd line center or 1st wing

Bellows Keller Carpenter
Grenway JFK Cloonan
Olsson Harper Roberto
Andren McDermott Phelps

Flip one and two

Flip one and two

And possibly switch Harper and Cloonan (maybe not right out of the gate, but I think there is an expectation that Harper's offensive skill level is top 2 line material.

Tonight's Team North America top line: Gaudreau - McDavid - Eichel

Quinn has stated that Carpenter’s best position is center. But that’s over-ridden by the fact that he’s a top-six talent and the second leading goal-scorer among returnees. There’s an added benefit of his playing wing when the center is tossed from the face off circle. Carpenter had the second best FO% last season. The only question is whether Carpenter skates with Keller & Bellows or with JFK & Greenway.

Agree with defkit about Harper also being a strong top-six candidate. He was supposed to take a junior season until his senior year at AOF convinced the staff he's ready for D1. Doubt he's being brought in for a bottom six role.

I'm sorry, but all I can picture when I hear that song is Joe Piscopo and Eddie Murphy on SNL. "You are blind as a bat and I have sight, side by side you are my amigo, negro, let's not fight...."

Not the most PC skit, but funny at the time.
