I think the coolest thing up at Tsongas is the Pepsi Blimp. Flat. Out. Awesome. And it drops gift certificates onto the spectators!

It dropped coupons for cleaning hockey equipment. BU had one at WBA in its final couple years that dropped coupons off real estate services.

Better prizes and I'd be more inclined to agree with you.

I'd be happy with a cleaning hockey equipment coupon. Then I might actually get my hockey equipment cleaned.

Also, I got a coupon for Showcase Cinemas in Lowell at a Lock Monsters (refuse to call them Devils) game a few years ago. That was pretty sweet.

15% off, and only at a certain location, and that location wasn't even in Lowell

Whats sad is that one of the like 3 prizes I've ever gotten at ~200 BU hockey games

I think what cc99 was referring to was that you can no longer walk around the concourse due to the Talon Club. And you're now the official owner of the building? What was that ceremony then the last time we were there?

That was the signing over of the arena to the school. I remember it distinctly because it was absolutely the most horrendous, pathetic intermission entertainment I've ever witnessed at a hockey game!!

That was the signing of the agreement between the City and the University that the University would be buying the arena. Now that it's all been passed through the lawyers and the legislature, the University officially took ownership of the arena today.

And has it been confirmed that Lowell is getting a jumbotron? Or is DiamondVision just a flat screen?

Think LED, like the ribbon bands they've put in. Think junior version of the Garden's center ice board. That's what it's going to be like. Both the new board and the new, existing ribbon bands will be integrated together in terms of presentation, graphics, etc.

Considering my current method is a spraying my gear with a water/rotgut vodka mixture, I'd be inclined to agree with you. Even 15% off is better than nothing!

This is one of those nights that if I were in the area I'd come in by Drum hill/Rte 3 (Rte 4 from I-495)... swing on across the river and then drive up Rte 113 to the arena (passing University Ave and thus Suppas)... basically I'd take that road along the river up until the baseball park (on the arena side of the river).

Losing the game the way Lowell did (giving up 2 first period shorties) was bad enough, but did we really need the overweight 50+ year old beast flash us all? That image will be burned into my memory forever. No way to not forget that.

It was related to Winterfest, I asked the attendant. The price should be back to normal next week.

I've maintained for years that they should have a runner-up prize in the 50-50 raffle that allows the winner to have control of the blimp for like 10 minutes. Now THAT would be something to see!!!
