Only good thing to come of that was ruining the Hobey Baker Award presentation that had been scheduled for after the game (or is my memory failing me?).

No, David Emma was kept in a room somewhere in the Civic Center and was to be announced after the game.

Did O'Regan sign with the Sharks yesterday? I know that tweet said it was coming soon, but then I haven't heard anything.

Well, I know exactly where I was 25 years ago today. *sigh*
As a fan, never been more drained after watching a game. Some of the better BU moments of that game.

Sacco's first goal:

McEachern: BU's 6th goal:

Sacco's tying goal:

#Flames GM Brad Treliving confirms Brandon Hickey will return to Boston University for his junior season.

Two things:

1) I want a video review of McEachern's post-to-post shot in OT.
2) I want Amonte to have 2 more seconds so he can deke around Pye and bury that puck into the empty net.

BU Hockey: Still Hurts

To state the obvious, in terms of sheer talent and firepower, BU's best team.

Anyone have the clip of the uncalled N Mich player who was offsides just before the GWG?

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Two factiods that I've brought up before (one most people know)
- The "two-post shot" only hit one post. On the other side it hit a defenseman's skate as it was gliding ever so slightly away from the net. It caromed off the skate and was heading towards the net when Pye smothered it (if only he had a transparent glove, we could see if it actually made it across). Of course, McEachern's shot followed Kevin O'Sullivan's shot off the post, which seemed to catch everyone by surprise - didn't look like much of a play when he released it. So there were two posts on the play, but only one on McEachern's shot.
- The GWG was helped by a bad change. Tomlinson was trailing the play along the boards coming out of the offensive zone (thus hard to see from the bench), calling for his replacement. The replacement (McCann?) didn't realize this until Tomlinson was right at the bench, so McCann ended up being late to the play in the defensive zone, which could account for why the give-and-go looked so easy.

I remember reading on the old bulletin board in the Case Center hallway an article that mentioned that on the flight home the pilot came over the intercom system and said something to the effect of "we have the BU Hockey team on board. The team took part in one of the most amazing sporting events I have ever seen, last night. While they came up short, they should be proud of their effort". Does anyone else recall seeing such an article (or quote)? Always thought that was pretty cool.

Stats for the 90-91 team. Seven forwards with at least 15 goals. I count 11 who reached the NHL, if you include Nick Vachon's 1-game cup of coffee with the Isles.

3 30-goal scorers
4 60-point scorers

You don't see those numbers anymore anywhere. How many years back do you have to go to get to 4 60 point scorers, combined? Two last year, but I'm not sure we've had any since Drury left otherwise.

You are correct. Chris Drury (1995-96 & 96-97) and Jay Pandolfo (1995-96) were BU's last 60 point scorers before last season. BU has had only 23 players score 60+ points in a single season (2 did it twice, Chris Drury and David Sacco) and the only time there were 4 in a single season was 1990-91. Twice BU had 3 in a single season (1970-71 & 76-77) and 4 times BU had 2 in a single season (1977-78, 85-86, 95-96 & 14-15). BU has only had a 60+ point scorer in three consecutive seasons once (1965-66, 66-67 & 67-68), and in 2 consecutive seasons twice (1976-77 & 77-78 and 95-96 & 96-97).

Those GAA's for the goalies.:eek:
How about the save percentages?
John Bradley - 0.885
Scott Cashman - 0.859
