Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

mookie's guess (scsu gonna win tonight)

(worcester) 1 Quinnipiac vs 16 RIT //////////////////////// 8 Massachusetts-Lowell vs 10 Yale

(cincy) 2 St. Cloud State vs 15 Ferris State ////////// 7 Michigan vs 9 Boston University

(st paul) 3 North Dakota vs 13 Northeastern /////////// 6 Denver vs 12 Notre Dame

(albany) 4 Providence vs 14 Minnesota-Duluth ///////// 5 Boston College vs 11 Harvard

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

So I'll ask again...St. Paul officially?

Well, we won't know "officially" until the selection show tomorrow...but one would think so. As a 3 seed, we have to play a 2. It can't be BC or Lowell, and we know Notre Dame will be in Cincinnati. So it has to be St. Paul against I would think Denver, since Michigan probably goes to Cincinnati.

No way ND doesn't go to Cincinnati for attendance reasons. Flip them, I say. BU vs Denver in St. Paul.

Nothing official till selection show- Just did a quick hypothetical and had BU-Mich in St Paul
Assume St Cloud holds on and is 1 seed in St Paul and would play Ferris State
However they would be only team to draw fans to that regional- so teams could switch
Put Quinnipiac in Albany vs RIT and Providence in Worcester vs Minn Duluth

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Yes, I know the show is tomorrow and that's when they announce it. I was just asking given the other games that happened tonight, and especially with NU's win, if it meant there was any chance BU stays east. I'm trying to determine if I can pull the trigger on travel plans.

If St Cloud holds on they will go to St Paul-North Dakota to Cinn

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Ythere was any chance BU stays east.

No. This is where six (really five, because ND isn't geographically "East" anyway) Hockey East teams in hurts us. Four of the six are ranked higher than us, so BU and NU will travel west.

nd has no hockey fans. ferris and michigan will do better than nd. the one i did minimized the messing with seed integrity. keeps everything 1max off the "17" sum and set up the "9" 2nd rd if seed hold out. i would bet nd alums in the twin cities are equal to the cincy area.

we'll see.

sioux will bring as many as jan brady to st paul. michigan will travel to ohio before mn as a drivable destination.

no matter what these are going to be in empty barns

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

It's too late at night to start the "let's change the regionals format" discussion.... :D

mookie didn't. he kept bracket integrity and made chicken salad outta chicken chit. :p

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

here is wodon's guess

Albany
1. Quinnipiac vs. 16. RIT
8. Lowell vs. 10. Yale

St. Paul
2. St. Cloud State vs. 15. Ferris State
6. Denver vs. 9. Boston University

Cincinnati
3. North Dakota vs. 13. Northeastern
7. Michigan vs. 12. Notre Dame

Worcester
4. Providence vs. 14. Minnesota-Duluth
5. Boston College vs. 11. Harvard

That's what I was thinking...ND may have a lot of subway alumni in the Twin Cities (are there subways in St. Paul??), but besides Michigan, you need someone else in Cincinnati. And if they don't have many hockey fans anyway, then the ones they have are more likely to drive to Cincy than St. Paul. But...enough for tonight...we can wait 12 hours! :)

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

I think "Attendance Integrity" is more important to the NCAA than bracket integrity...

The answer to "Attendance Integrity" is to change the regionals format (there, I started it ;)). Whether if it's going back to campus sites or picking better regional sites than Cincy, Ft. Wayne, Green Bay, Grand Rapids, etc. But the western regional hosts will almost always have attendance issues b/c of geography in comparison to the northeast.

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

I like that Wooden's bracket a lot. #winnable

Agreed. And that's all I'm going to say about that...it's too late at night. :D

Why you like it so much? 2 NCHC teams including arguably the best NCHC team. BU would have to beat 2 of the top 6 teams in the country in both PWR and KRACH. Add in that BU is out west and I think it is a very tough bracket.
