Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

But you have changed the comparison.

So it sounds like you're saying that when BU wins it all this year, the loss last night will not have meant anything. Fine. You're right. I am anticipating that this team is not going to pull off what Providence did last year. Other than that, what do you not understand about 2 National Championships in 38 years?

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

And, by the way, how much money (can I say that here) would you like to bet that we DON'T do what Providence did? I would love to retire early...

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Lake Superior State has won more National Championships in the last 38 years than we have.
Actually, only the last 37 years as it is yet to be determined who wins this year (although it appears you have given up on BU having any chance and just used 38). And using that same benchmark only 4 teams have won more championships, while 4 others have also won two. By why not use since 1995? With that as a benchmark Only BC has won more, while only 3 other teams have also won two.

Let's look at actual team. Basically had 5 forwards
1st line plus Bobo and lane. Lack of development departures injuries gave us no depth and iffy goaltending. Quinnipiac game is only reason we still will make tournament.

I asked you to state your expectations so I know what you consider a top-flight program. Without a clear answer I can only guess 3 national title in the past 37 years is your minimum. As I have pointed out very few teams have more than BU in the last 37 years and only one has more in the past 21 years.

Or you could be the Eden Hall JV Ducks who are getting their butts whipped after building a huge lead in their first game I'm watching now on the Discover Family channel.

Except that we have more talent than the Eden Hall JV Ducks...

I agree that this team really has only 2 lines and I have commented on the goaltending earlier in the season. It seems everyone here has forgotten how bad the team was two seasons ago.

As for the pairwise, I went over to CHN and flipped the BU-Q game and BU was 12th, with only 49 comparisons, so yes, it has turned out to be an important game.

I asked you to state your expectations

My expectations are that we play hard with 100% effort, especially in the post-season. You (as all of you guys like to do) changed the narrative and put it back on me. I made a comment that we stunk out the joint last night and immediately got lambasted from all corners. Usually these forums are for DISCUSSION purposes. Typically there is a "discourse" between people, so we can have a civil discussion. But, as I stated, I have no interest in making a statement and being assaulted by hypersensitive people who only want someone to agree with them all the time. It's the way things are in this country now...disagree with the elitist know-it-alls and get shouted down, belittled, ganged up on and discredited. Just like presidents who ignore the people they are supposed to include in the process and usurp it with executive orders, or commit $500 million to a UN "Green" fund unilaterally. The "know it alls" call anyone who doesn't agree with them a moron and lie and/or conceal the truth to further their agenda. Sorry, I'm not participating. Pick on some other sorry a-hole. My opinion is my opinion and I don't give a d*mn if you agree or not.

Are you 12?

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Not one person here has disagreed that the team stunk out the joint Saturday night. I think we all feel you're making things out to be way more dire than they actually are.

You don't think Oksanen is good? You don't think the wins over Michigan, Denver, and Harvard are relevant? The amount of selective memory in this thread is astounding.

Make it 6 forgot him. Quinnipiac win on road was significant cause they only lost once before this weekend. We do have very high quality win percentage

truth be told we lose the pwr with Q regardless. i think more importantly is the DU win as that swings the pair to our boys. for bonus the QU win works out the same as the HU win.

Nope, QU win also greatly bolsters our RPI overall as well as giving us a quality win bonus, therefore helping us in every pair. In fact, our quality win bonus is the highest in the country at .0090. The next closest total is BC at .0071. But half the people complaining about our inability to win big games this year shouldn't let that stand in the way of their arguments.

Also this:

BU has nine wins against teams in the top-14 of the PWR this season. That’s huge.
